Freshpet co-founder and president Scott Morris will step back from his roles at the US pet-food group on 20 October, the company's 20th anniversary. He will move into an advisory position for 18 months and be succeeded as president by COO Nicki Baty, who will retain her COO duties. Baty joined Freshpet two years ago as part of a leadership succession plan and will continue to report to CEO Billy Cyr, overseeing commercial operations and the supply chain. Morris' innovation responsibilities will shift to a newly created chief innovation officer role. Freshpet, founded by Morris, Cathal Walsh, and John Phelps in 2006, reported net sales of $1.1bn in 2025, up 13% from the prior year, with net income of $139.1m.
