Burckhardt Compression Wins MTU Order for Gas Turbine Test Facility Compressors

Burckhardt Compression has secured an order from MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg to supply two high-speed compressor solutions for MTU's gas turbine test facility in Ludwigsfelde, Germany. The compressor solution was designed to meet the demanding reliability requirements of the application, and the order followed close collaboration between the two companies during project development. MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg conducts performance tests on industrial gas turbine engines after engine shop visits as part of its maintenance, repair and overhaul services. The test facility currently runs on natural gas and is being prepared for future operation with blends of natural gas and hydrogen of up to 25 percent, supporting the industry's transition toward lower-carbon energy systems. The Ludwigsfelde site, south of Berlin, is the MTU network's MRO specialist for GE Aerospace's LM-Series industrial gas turbines and is in the middle of constructing a new production building to accommodate growth in maintenance demand. Andreas Brautsch, President of Burckhardt Compression's Systems Division, said reliable gas turbine infrastructure remains essential for ensuring security of supply while supporting the energy transition.

Burckhardt Compression Opens 16,000-Square-Foot Parts Warehouse in Hockley, Texas

Burckhardt Compression officially opened a new 16,000-square-foot parts warehouse in Hockley, Texas, on June 10, 2026. The climate-controlled facility serves as the central inventory hub for all of the company's operations in the US and Mexico, consolidating stock currently spread across six US locations. The investment is driven by a strategy to boost customer support, streamline inventory management, and improve operational efficiency, with the company able to pass on pricing benefits to customers. The new warehouse also enables the nearby Waller Aftermarket Service Center to reclaim approximately 30% of its existing floor space, allowing for the installation of additional machining capacity and the expansion of maintenance services. Once fully stocked, the Hockley hub will support all Burckhardt Compression service centers, field service teams, and customers directly, with most in-stock parts, including the TrueGem line, available for same-day shipping.
