Clarus Corporation designs, develops, manufactures, and distributes outdoor equipment and lifestyle products in the United States, Australia, China, Austria, and internationally. It operates in two segments: Outdoor and Adventure. The Outdoor segment offers apparel, rock-climbing footwear and equipment, technical backpacks, trekking poles, headlamps, gloves, and ski gear under the Black Diamond Equipment and PIEPS brands. The Adventure segment provides automotive roof racks, mounting systems, luggage boxes, and recovery boards under the Rhino-Rack brand, and overlanding and off-road vehicle recovery tracks under the MAXTRAX brand, as well as distributes and retails overlanding and off-road vehicle products under the TRED brand. The company markets and distributes through independent specialty stores, sporting goods and outdoor recreation stores, distributors, original equipment manufacturers, and its websites. It was formerly known as Black Diamond, Inc. and changed its name to Clarus Corporation in August 2017. Founded in 1957, it is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
