House passes affordable housing bill, sending it to Trump for signature

The Senate had approved the measure 85-5 on Monday, and Trump is scheduled to sign it at the Capitol on Wednesday. The bill aims to boost housing supply by waiving or speeding up environmental reviews for home construction and capping the number of single-family homes that large institutional investors can own. Homebuilders such as D.R. Horton, Lennar, PulteGroup, NVR, and Taylor Morrison Home, along with building-products supplier Builders FirstSource and manufactured housing companies Champion Homes and Cavco Industries, are seen as potential beneficiaries.
