Medline raises sales outlook but cuts EBITDA guidance after fire and tariff refunds

Medline raised its full-year organic sales growth outlook to 9% to 10% while lowering adjusted EBITDA guidance to $3.3 billion to $3.4 billion, citing operational investments, quality remediation, retail weakness, and costs from a June fire at its Tracy, California distribution center. Second-quarter net sales rose 12% to $7.7 billion, led by a 16% increase in Supply Chain Solutions and a 15% increase in U.S. acute-care sales. Adjusted EBITDA increased 13% to $1.1 billion, including a $243 million net benefit from IEEPA tariff refunds, but underlying profitability was pressured by higher costs. The Tracy fire reduced first-half net income by $336 million, and the company expects an additional $50 million to $100 million in related costs during the second half. Medline is expanding its California distribution network and expects its footprint to reach nearly 5 million square feet by mid-2027.
