Global Payments Inc. is placing greater emphasis on its Genius platform as it reshapes its business around merchant-focused solutions. Launched in 2025, Genius combines point-of-sale, payments and software capabilities into a unified offering, and adoption continued to build in the second quarter of 2026, with new Genius locations increasing more than 50% year over year and Genius bookings rising more than 25% sequentially. The unveiling of an AI-first Genius handheld in May 2026 added another technology-driven offering to the portfolio. The Worldpay integration is expected to further expand Genius' addressable market, with the company expecting Worldpay's U.S. financial-institution partners to begin selling Genius in the fourth quarter of 2026, initially through 30 of its largest bank partners. Among competitors, Fiserv's Clover gross payment volumes rose 9% year over year in the second quarter of 2026 and Block's Square gross payment volumes grew 13%, while Global Payments shares have risen 9.9% year to date against an 11.9% industry decline and trade at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 5.52 versus an industry average of 17.43.
