Daio Paper Corporation operates in the paper and paperboard business across Japan, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Brazil, and other international markets. It runs through the Paper and Paperboard, Home and Personal Care, and Others segments. Its products include newsprint, publication, printing, and communication paper, recycled-content colored construction paper, wrapping paper, containerboard and corrugated containers, functional materials, and home and personal care items such as disposable diapers for babies and adults, sanitary napkins, absorbent liners for light incontinence, tissue products, wet wipes, and cleaning supplies. The company also conducts research and development of cellulose nanofiber, was incorporated in 1943, and is headquartered in Shikokuchuo, Japan.

Industry-wide support planned for newsprint supply after Nippon Paper's Yatsushiro mill halts operations

The Japan Paper Association and domestic paper manufacturers are considering supply support for newsprint following the suspension of operations at Nippon Paper Industries' Yatsushiro mill due to the Kumamoto earthquake. The Yatsushiro mill suffered extensive damage, including collapsed smokestacks, and there is no timeline for recovery. Nippon Paper also produces newsprint at its Iwanuma mill, but to ensure an industry-wide response, other major players such as Oji Holdings and Daio Paper, along with the Japan Paper Association, will take the lead in providing support.

Daio Paper to Withdraw from Indonesian Disposable Diaper Business
