AGC Inc. manufactures and sells architectural glass, electronics, chemicals, automotive, and ceramics products worldwide. Its offerings include architectural glass such as insulated, laminated, wired, toughened, solar control, sound insulation, decorative, float, patterned, and industrial glass, plus structural glazing systems; automotive glass for displays, sensors, connected drive, windows, and trains; and glass substrates for thin-film-transistor liquid crystal displays and OLEDs. The company also provides synthetic fused silica glass, silicon carbides, CMP slurry, through glass vias, glass substrates for semiconductor packaging and anodic bonding, industrial PTFE composite materials, copper clad laminate, optical materials, optical films, glass frit, pastes, hermetic sealing lids, tissue culture products, laboratory glassware, borosilicate glass tubes and rods, and heat resistant glassware. Additionally, it offers chlor-alkali, polyurethanes, fluoro, and specialty chemical products; high thermal insulation ceramics walls for furnaces and fine ceramics; plasma-resistant coatings for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and plastic optical fiber; and contract development and manufacturing services for pharmaceutical and agrochemical components. Formerly known as Asahi Glass Co., Ltd., it changed its name to AGC Inc. in July 2018. Founded in 1907, AGC Inc. is headquartered in Chiyoda, Japan.
