The company also provides commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, residential mortgage, construction and land, consumer, balloon, and adjustable-rate loans, and invests in U.S. treasury securities, government and agency securities, mortgage-backed securities, collateralized mortgage obligations, corporate and municipal bonds, certificates of deposit at other financial institutions, and federal and money market funds. It additionally operates FitnessBank, a virtual bank that accepts deposits and offers higher interest rates based on customers meeting certain fitness goals. Founded in 1928, the company is headquartered in Covington, Georgia.
