Northwest Bancshares to Build New Dublin, Ohio Headquarters as Q2 Net Income Hits $54 Million

Northwest Bancshares announced plans on August 25 to build a new 75,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, inside the Bridge North development, with completion scheduled for the first half of 2029. The facility, backed by an initial 15-year lease commitment, will allow headquarters staff to more than double to 300 people by 2034, and will include a ground-floor financial center and wealth management advisory services. The City of Dublin is providing municipal incentives of up to $460,000 tied to new payroll taxes through 2034 plus a $50,000 occupancy grant. The announcement follows second-quarter net income of $54 million, or $0.36 per diluted share, up from $34 million a year prior, with average loans up 16.4% year over year, commercial and industrial lending up 32%, and net interest margin widening to 3.75% from 3.56%. Costs and credit metrics are also rising: personnel expenses climbed 15% year over year, total noninterest expense rose 6.9%, classified loans reached $524 million, or 3.96% of total loans, as of June 30, 2026, and the quarterly provision for credit losses stepped up to $7 million from $4 million in the prior quarter.
