Liancheng CNC Sues Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the US for Patent Infringement, Involving Tesla's Texas 10 GW Order Delivery Timeline

Liancheng Crystal Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Liancheng CNC, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical in the Marshall Division of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that certain Czochralski single-crystal growth equipment sold in the United States infringes two US patents, US 11,255,024 B2 and US 11,814,746 B2, both titled "Seed Lifting and Rotation System for Crystal Growth." Liancheng Crystal Technology has put forward seven claims, including a finding of infringement, damages of no less than a reasonable patent royalty, enhanced damages if willful infringement is found, and a permanent injunction barring Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical from continuing to sell or import the single-crystal furnaces at issue in the United States. Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical responded the same day, saying it has not yet received formal court documents, that the technical methods used in its products are entirely different from those in the patents at issue, and that it will actively defend itself if it receives formal documents. The court hearing the case is known for its fast-paced trials and friendliness to patent holders. According to Lex Machina's 2025 Patent Litigation Report, the Eastern District of Texas ranked first among all US patent litigation venues for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. In the four trading days after news of the lawsuit emerged, Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical's share price fell from 42.3 yuan to 38.27 yuan, a cumulative decline of about 9.5 percent, wiping out roughly 5.8 billion yuan in market value.

First quantifiable tool against solar industry involution lands as CPIA cost accounting model officially takes effect

The China Photovoltaic Industry Association cost accounting model officially took effect on July 27. The State Administration for Market Regulation held its first compliance guidance meeting on July 31, marking the arrival of the first quantifiable tool against industry involution and clarifying the path for raising bidding floor prices. Guojin Securities noted that these guidelines represent a key step for solar industry governance to move from self-regulatory initiatives toward standardization and institutionalization, which is expected to shift companies from price wars to quality competition and promote high-quality development in the solar sector. In addition, the policy window for distributed consumption solutions such as station-area energy storage and green power direct connection has arrived. On August 3, the mainstream price of 2.0 mm coated glass in the East China market rose 1.17% from the previous trading day. As of 9:30 a.m. on August 3, the CSI Photovoltaic Industry Index gained 0.52%, and the Penghua Solar ETF rose 0.56% to 0.54 yuan, with intraday turnover reaching 1.0588 million yuan.
