It has four segments: Logistics Solutions, Plant, Next-Generation Energy Development, and Business Innovation. The Plant segment provides maintenance and other services for storage tanks used for LNG, LPG, crude oil, and other gases and liquids. The Next-Generation Energy Development segment designs, builds, and executes construction of such storage tanks. The Logistics Solutions segment develops, designs, builds, and executes material handling systems for sorting, picking, and conveying, and offers maintenance services. The Business Innovation segment develops and proposes solutions to promote safety and reduce labor across industries. The company also engages in building construction, manufacture and sale of industrial facilities and equipment, real estate rental, leasing, and inspection, measurement, and analysis of asbestos. Formerly Toyo Kanetsu Kogyo K.K., it changed its name to Toyo Kanetsu K.K. in 1969. Incorporated in 1941, it is headquartered in Koto, Japan.

Toyokanetsu acquires land in Wakayama for new factory at 813 million yen

Toyokanetsu, the largest player in airport baggage handling systems, has announced it will acquire land for a new factory as it builds a new production base. The land to be acquired is in Hatashima, Arida City, Wakayama Prefecture, near its current Wakayama factory in No, Arida City, Wakayama Prefecture, and the purchase price is 813 million yen. The move is aimed at accelerating growth in its logistics solutions business, reducing disaster risk, and optimizing production functions. At the new factory, the company plans to achieve a significant increase in productivity and respond to higher output through automation and robotization of work and inter-process transport as well as optimization of production functions, while also aiming to build a flexible production system capable of handling future diversification of products. The closing price on the 28th was 2,439 yen, down 1 yen from the end of the previous week.
