Aris Mining Completes Environmental Assessment for Soto Norte Project

Aris Mining has cleared a key permitting hurdle for its Soto Norte gold copper project in Colombia by completing its Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and beginning formal community engagement ahead of an environmental licence application. The milestone follows earlier approvals on the mine plan and clarifications to Colombian regulatory protections. The company's shares have returned 15.19% year to date and posted a very large 3 year total shareholder return, though the 30 day share price return has eased 8.37%. Analysts see a narrative fair value of CA$41.53 against a last close of CA$24.95, with the gap linked to project build out and operating scale. The ongoing expansion at the Segovia operations, with the new second ball mill increasing processing capacity by 50% and a targeted production ramp up to 300,000 ounces in 2026, is described as a driver of sustained revenue growth and structurally higher operating margins.

Aris Mining Starts Construction of Puruni Bridge in Guyana

Aris Mining Corporation has commenced construction of a permanent bridge across the Puruni River at Puruni Landing in Guyana, a key logistics link to its Toroparu Gold Project. The 109-metre modular steel bridge will supplement the existing pontoon crossing, improving access for the project and other users of the Puruni corridor. This early infrastructure initiative is being advanced while the Toroparu Pre-Feasibility Study continues, with completion targeted for December 2026. The company is coordinating with Guyana's Ministry of Natural Resources and Ministry of Public Works, and expects the bridge to divert heavy industrial traffic away from the main community road. Aris Mining, which operates the Segovia and Marmato mines in Colombia, produced approximately 257,000 ounces of gold in 2025 and aims to increase annual production to about 500,000 ounces.

Aris Mining Reports Record Cash Flow and On-Track Production in Q2 2026

Aris Mining Corp reported record first-half revenue and operating cash flow after taxes of $200 million, fully funding capital expenditures of $196 million and maintaining free cash flow positivity. The company produced 74,000 ounces of gold in the second quarter of 2026, bringing first-half production to 148,000 ounces, on track for full-year guidance of 300,000 to 350,000 ounces. Adjusted EBITDA reached $179 million in the second quarter, and the cash balance stood at $426 million at quarter end, down from $472 million partly due to annual Colombian tax payments and capital investments. The Marmato project remains on schedule for first gold in the fourth quarter of 2026, with total expected investment for the year now estimated at $238 million, up from the original $220 million budget, and remaining capital required through year-end of $118 million. Segovia's expanded mill is performing well, and investments in underground development are expected to drive higher production in the second half of 2026 and beyond, supporting a clear path to approximately 500,000 ounces of annual gold production in the near term.

Canadian Stocks Tumble Amid Risk Aversion Due To Fresh U.S.-Iran Strikes

Canadian stocks slumped on Wednesday, with the benchmark S&P/TSX Composite Index settling at 34,935.80, down 336.79 points or 0.95%, as a fresh exchange of attacks between the U.S. and Iran renewed risk aversion. The decline reversed gains from the previous session after the U.K. Maritime Trade Operations center reported three vessels hit by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting U.S. Central Command to strike targets in Iran and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps to claim hits on over 85 sites linked to the U.S. military in Kuwait and Bahrain. U.S. President Donald Trump called peace talks with Iran "over" but allowed negotiators to continue engaging, while warning the U.S. could capture Iran's Kharg Island oil terminal and target desalination plants. Oil prices surged above $75 on renewed supply concerns, lifting the energy sector by 3.78%, while materials fell 3.16% and financials lost 1.86%. Among individual stocks, Enerflex Ltd gained 5.71% and Methanex Corp rose 6.21%, while Aris Mining Corporation dropped 8.06%.
