Most people file silver in the same drawer as gold — a precious metal you stash when the world gets shaky. But silver actually has a split personality, driven by two completely different forces. One side is a “safe haven” like gold, bought when people are afraid. The other is an “industrial metal” — the best electrical conductor in the world, embedded in every solar panel, in chips, in EVs, and in AI data centers. This is the story of a metal where over half the demand comes from factories, yet the price still jumps on fear — and right now it's in its fifth straight year of shortage, driving the price to a 45-year record.

Coeur Mining Sets Record US$158 Million 2026 Exploration Budget
Coeur Mining outlined a record US$158 million exploration program for 2026, with US$24 million allocated to New Afton and US$18 million to Rainy River in Canada. The company reported past exploration results showing extended mineralization and higher-than-expected gold and copper intercepts at its New Afton K-Zone and East Picrite Trend, alongside growth-focused drilling across underground and near-surface targets at Rainy River. The record budget underscores how aggressively Coeur is pursuing potential resource growth and mine-life extension, sharpening the tension between funding aggressive drilling and managing cash flow. The step-up in exploration follows Coeur's move into shareholder returns with a new dividend and a large buyback authorization in early 2026, a balance the company is trying to strike between capital returns and a sizable spend on potential resource growth. Coeur's narrative projects US$5.1 billion in revenue and US$1.5 billion in earnings by 2029, yielding a US$23.95 fair value and 36% upside to its current price, while some of the lowest ranked analysts project about US$5.4 billion of revenue and US$1.9 billion of earnings by 2029 and may now see the exploration push as increasing execution and cost risk.
Advanced Gold Signs MOU to Acquire Nevada Silver-Gold Property With 39.7 Million Ounce Historical Resource
Advanced Gold Exploration Inc. has executed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Ameerex Corporation to assume Ameerex's rights to acquire 100% of North American Silver Corporation and, indirectly, Centennial Mining, which together own the Corcoran Canyon Silver-Gold Property and the Belmont Properties in Nye County, Nevada. The Corcoran Canyon Silver Reef Zone carries a historical inferred mineral resource estimate, prepared for Electric Metals (USA) Limited with an effective date of October 12, 2020, of 31.5 million tonnes at 39 g/t AgEq in a pit-constrained estimate at a 20 g/t AgEq cut-off plus 175,000 tonnes at 122 g/t AgEq underground at a 100 g/t AgEq cut-off, for a combined total of approximately 39.7 million ounces AgEq. Advanced Gold expects to assume remaining cash obligations of approximately US$3.4 million payable to the underlying vendor, including approximately US$1.2 million due on or before October 31, 2026, and a further approximately US$2.2 million thereafter, and to issue 4,045,500 common shares to Ameerex at a deemed price of $0.12 per share. The company is in discussions with an arm's-length Qatari investment group on a proposed non-brokered private placement of approximately US$1.2 million at CDN$0.15 per share with one warrant exercisable at $0.20 for two years, and the group has indicated an intention to invest up to a further US$2.5 million. Completion of the transaction remains subject to definitive agreements, the payments described, CSE acceptance and other customary conditions, and the company has also terminated its arrangements relating to the Muriel Marr project in Ontario.

Endeavour Silver's Guanacevi Mill Offline About Three Weeks After Mechanical Fault
Endeavour Silver has reported a mechanical problem with the primary ball mill at its Guanacevi Mine, with the unit expected to remain offline for roughly three weeks while repairs proceed. Processing capacity is temporarily reduced, with the regrind circuit running at about 600 tonnes per day against ordinary throughput of roughly 1,100 tonnes per day, though mining activity on site continues. The disruption has weighed on the shares, which are down 20.45% over the past 30 days and 7.83% over the past week, even as the 1-year total shareholder return stands at 13.95% and the 3-year total shareholder return is approximately three times the initial value. Endeavour Silver last closed at CA$12.25, while the most followed narrative anchors on a fair value of CA$19.30 using an 8.1% discount rate, a gap that frames the stock as 37% undervalued. That bullish case rests on the Terronera mine nearing commercial production, optimization of recoveries on track, and potential expansion of the Kolpa mine to 2,500 tonnes per day in 2026, but it also leans heavily on Terronera ramping smoothly and on Guanacevi avoiding further mechanical setbacks. A contrasting view comes from the current P/E, with Endeavour Silver trading on 38.7x earnings versus a Canadian Metals and Mining average of 15.5x and an estimated fair ratio of 18.9x.
Aya Gold & Silver Reports High-Grade Boumadine Drill Results
Aya Gold & Silver reported fresh high-grade drill results from its Boumadine project in Morocco, confirming continuous mineralization along several zones and keeping resource expansion in focus. The update comes as the company's shares have returned 1.04% over one day, 36.97% over 90 days, and 129.83% on a one-year total shareholder return basis. Aya closed at CA$38.68, while the most followed analyst narrative pegs fair value at about CA$50.23, implying the stock is 23% undervalued. The Zgounder mine ramp-up is now largely complete, with processing capacity exceeding nameplate and plant recoveries reaching roughly 92%, which the company expects to drive higher silver production and lower unit costs. Aya remains tightly tied to Moroccan assets and silver prices, so regulatory shifts or weaker metal demand could challenge the upside case.
Sparton Resources Provides Status Update on Trading Halt
Sparton Resources Inc. announced that filings related to the Morrison Mine Option Agreement are now on the LINX system and the proposed transaction has been conditionally accepted by the TSX Venture Exchange. The temporary trading halt, placed by CIRO on September 1, 2026, remains in effect pending the filing of an NI 43-101 Technical Report under Section 5.6(d)(iii) of Policy 5.3 and resolution of all comments from the Exchange's Compliance and Disclosure Department. An independent NI 43-101 Technical Report has been commissioned and should be completed and filed shortly. Company President A. Lee Barker said the two Morrison Mine transactions give Sparton exposure to silver in an established Canadian silver camp, with Sparton retaining operatorship and intending to use its wholly owned drilling company on a program largely funded by Glen Eagle Resources. Morrison is a past producer that averaged approximately 29 oz/ton of silver over its production life.

Masivo Silver Hits 32.5 Metres of Polymetallic Mineralization in First 2026 Hole at Cerro Colorado
Masivo Silver Corp. reported encouraging analytical results from Drill Hole CC-26-001, the first hole completed in its current exploration program at the Cerro Colorado Project in Sonora, Mexico. The hole intersected 32.50 metres from 226.30 to 258.80 metres averaging 0.271% Zn, 7.0 g/t Ag, 0.141% Pb, 0.025% Cu and 0.01 g/t Au, while higher up it cut 5.10 metres from 215.10 to 220.20 metres averaging 24.0 g/t Ag, 0.611% Zn, 0.121% Pb, 0.035% Cu and 0.024 g/t Au. Grades strengthened near the bottom of the hole, with 15.6 g/t Ag, 0.433% Zn, 0.244% Pb and 0.051% Cu from 256.8 to 257.8 metres, followed by 29.4 g/t Ag, 0.568% Zn, 0.293% Pb and 0.164% Cu from 257.8 to 258.8 metres. Drilling was terminated at 259.5 metres due to technical difficulties rather than the end of the mineralized geological package, and the hole remained within the strongly altered and mineralized rhyolitic porphyry at the end of the hole. President and CEO David Coburn said the results give a clear rationale for follow-up drilling, which will seek to determine the lateral and vertical continuity of the mineralized package and test whether the increasing metal tenor near the bottom of CC-26-001 vectors toward higher-grade portions of the system. Separately, Masivo and Cerro Colorado are awaiting TSXV approval to adjust compensation from 300,000 to 450,000 common shares under the Cerro Colorado acquisition announced October 29, 2025.
