MAIRE S.p.A. provides solutions in green chemistry and energy transition technologies. It operates through two segments: Integrated E&C Solutions and Sustainable Technology Solutions. The Integrated E&C Solutions segment offers services such as feed, engineering, procurement and construction, plus upgrading and revamping of existing assets through its network of engineering hubs and operating centers. The Sustainable Technology Solutions segment provides technology licensing, process design package basic engineering design, proprietary equipment and catalysts, digital solutions, specialty solutions, and nitrogen, hydrogen, circular carbon, fuels and chemical, and polymer solutions. Formerly known as Maire Tecnimont S.p.A., the company changed its name to Maire S.p.A. in April 2024. It is headquartered in Milan, Italy, and operates as a subsidiary of Glv Capital S.P.A.

Tecnimont wins €1.3 billion contract for Latin America's largest urea plant in Argentina

MAIRE's subsidiary Tecnimont has been awarded a €1.3 billion contract by Fértil Pampa for a large-scale fertilizer complex in Argentina. The project includes a large-scale ammonia plant and two ultra-low energy urea trains with a combined capacity of 2.1 million tons per year, making it the largest urea plant in Latin America by production. Of the total value, €140 million relates to Nextchem's technology package, which includes urea licensing, process design, proprietary equipment, and the supply of a primary reformer for syngas. Construction will be carried out by Argentine company SACDE, with completion expected in 41 months. The facility will be located in the Bahía Blanca Industrial Complex and is expected to create more than 3,500 direct jobs at peak construction.
