NXP and VIS joint venture VSMC opens $7.8B 300 mm wafer fab in Singapore

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (VSMC), a joint venture between Vanguard International Semiconductor and NXP Semiconductors, has opened its first 12-inch (300 mm) wafer fab in Tampines, Singapore, a $7.8B facility. Following the completion of construction, the plant has entered risk production, with full commercial manufacturing scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Representatives from TSMC and other partners, along with customers, suppliers, industry associations, and government agencies, attended the opening, the company said.
