Dowa Holdings Co., Ltd. operates in environmental management and recycling, nonferrous metals, electronic materials, metal processing, and heat treatment. Its environmental services include industrial waste incineration, landfilling, melting and recycling of incinerated ash, soil surveys and remediation, environmental consulting, recycling of metals and discarded household appliances, and treatment of automotive shredder dust. The company also produces metals such as gold, silver, copper, lead, tin, antimony, nickel sulfate, zinc, zinc alloys, indium, and sulfuric acid, and provides recycling of platinum-group metals and resource procurement services. In addition, it offers high-purity materials, gallium arsenide wafers, infrared and ultraviolet LEDs, electronic materials including silver, copper, and conductive atomized powder, advanced fine materials such as magnetic, carrier, ferrite, and compound oxide powder, and copper alloy strips, nickel alloy strips, reflow tin-plated strips, and forged brass. It also provides precious metal electroplating, design, manufacture, marketing, and maintenance of heat treatment facilities, and heat and surface treatment services. Formerly known as Dowa Mining Co., Ltd., it changed its name to Dowa Holdings Co., Ltd. in October 2006. Founded in 1884, it is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

DOWA Holdings: 30% of Profits Come from Waste Collection

DOWA Holdings, a major non-ferrous metal company, has revealed in its segment information for the fiscal year ending March 2026 that its environment and recycling division, while accounting for only 111.1 billion yen (14.9% of total) in external sales out of consolidated net sales of 745.4 billion yen, generated 16.5 billion yen in ordinary profit, representing over 30% of the division's total ordinary profit of 50.7 billion yen. Including internal sales of 116 billion yen within the group, the division's total sales reach 227.1 billion yen, with more than half supplied to its own smelters. The smelting division follows with external sales of 352.1 billion yen and ordinary profit of 19.6 billion yen, while the metal processing division has external sales of 147.2 billion yen and ordinary profit of 9.7 billion yen. The stock price rose about 30% from 7,990 yen at the close on July 30 to 10,395 yen on August 28, with a P/E ratio of 10.79 and a P/B ratio of 1.34.
