AI forecasts keep rising, but memory costs and consumer weakness cloud the picture

  • AI hardware and software guidance raised again Broadcom lifted its fiscal 2027 AI-chip revenue forecast to about $115 billion, while Palantir raised full-year revenue guidance to $8.15 billion after 93% growth. Microsoft guided for 16-17% revenue growth, and HPE hit a record high on strong networking orders and a $1.2 billion AMD-powered AI server deal. These lift chip, server, networking and software suppliers.

This is the core positive force: multiple companies raised forward guidance, directly answering what estimates are shifting.

  • Memory makers raise outlooks on AI demand Micron guided fiscal first-quarter revenue to $61.5 billion, far above estimates, and said fiscal 2027 will be even stronger, with 75% of shipments already committed. It also raised capital spending and sees tight memory conditions through 2028. This boosts memory makers like Micron, SK Hynix and Samsung, but squeezes device makers facing higher component costs.

Micron's blowout guidance is a major new forward estimate that shifts expectations for the memory sector and its customers.

  • AI infrastructure write-off risk flagged Michael Burry warned that Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta and Oracle face potential asset write-downs around 2028-2029 if AI capacity exceeds demand, citing $3 trillion in commitments. This adds a cautionary note to the AI buildout, pressuring those hyperscalers and related infrastructure stocks.

This is a new negative forecast that could shift estimates for AI infrastructure spending and valuations.

  • Consumer and auto guidance cut sharply Nike guided fiscal 2027 revenue to fall high-single-digit, far below expectations, after a 4% drop and a 26% decline in Greater China. BMW set a modest 3-5% auto margin target for 2028 after a profit warning. These cuts signal a demand reset for consumer discretionary and auto stocks.

Nike and BMW are new negative guidance events that shift forward estimates for consumer and auto sectors.

Q3 2026
▼2▲1

AI demand strong but bubble fears and consumer reset weigh

  • AI infrastructure demand stays hot Nvidia projected $3–4T annual data-center spending by 2030, cloud capex seen at $1.4T by 2027, and Broadcom, AMD, Micron, Dell raised guidance. Defense and oil forecasts jumped on restocking and Hormuz risk.

This is the main positive force driving AI-related stocks and sectors in Q3.

  • AI bubble warnings and spending cuts 60% of businesses curbed AI software spending, and warnings grew over an AI bubble, $3T in off-balance-sheet commitments, debt raises, oversupply, and potential 2028–29 write-downs. Broadcom faced custom-chip competition, while Oracle, Alphabet and Meta saw sharp pressure.

This is the main risk that could reverse AI-driven gains and is new this quarter.

  • Broad demand reset hits consumer and auto A broad demand reset hit consumer, delivery, healthcare and auto names including Nike, Uber, BMW and Novo Nordisk, contrasting with AI-driven gains.

This shows a separate negative force affecting non-tech sectors, balancing the AI story.

Broker flags KGEN turnaround as revenue set to surge to 25 billion baht after EV plant stake rises to 60%

Global Securities, or GBS, says King Gen Public Company Limited, or KGEN, is entering a turnaround phase, raising its stake in Omoda & Jaecoo Manufacturing (Thailand) Company Limited, which operates the electric vehicle plants for the OMODA JAECOO and CHERY brands, from the current 43.7% to 51% in early July, and then to 60% in late July to early August. This will shift revenue recognition from the share of profit of an associate to full consolidation of both revenue and profit. Management expects that after the stake increase, revenue will grow significantly year on year to 25 billion baht, with a net profit margin of 2.5-3.0%, or roughly 600-700 million baht. Previously, KGEN reported second-quarter 2026 profit of 37 million baht, up 171% quarter on quarter and 152% year on year, after losses in the first quarter of 2026 and the second quarter of 2025. The main driver was the share of profit from its investment in that associate, whose production line began operating on 20 April 2026, while revenue from sales and services grew to 227 million baht, up 8% quarter on quarter and 36% year on year. Bookings for JAECOO and OMODA electric vehicles at the Big Motor Sale 2026, held from 21-30 August 2026, totaled 5,028 units, with deliveries scheduled for September to October 2026, an additional factor supporting revenue and profit growth. The current share price still cannot be assigned a P/E ratio because the company has posted continuous losses from 2022 through the first six months of 2026, though earnings are expected to turn around from 2026 onward. The stock trades at a P/BV ratio of 2.58 times, above its one-year, two-year and three-year averages of 2.56, 2.30 and 2.10 times respectively.

Jabil Guides Fiscal 2027 Core EPS to $17.55 as AI Revenue Set to Jump 54%

Jabil reported fourth-quarter revenue up 29% year over year and core earnings per share up 34% to $4.40, and guided fiscal 2027 core EPS to $17.55, another gain of about 34%. The company generated $14.4 billion of AI-related revenue in fiscal 2026 and expects $22.1 billion in fiscal 2027, a 54% increase, with six customers in the segment expected to top $1 billion each in fiscal 2027. Jabil supported $36.0 billion of revenue in fiscal 2026 on just $470 million of net capital spending, lifting core return on invested capital to 59%, nearly triple the fiscal 2020 level, and buybacks absorbed about $1.1 billion of free cash flow during the year. On the risk side, chief supply chain officer Francis McKay said memory is being pulled toward AI and hyperscale buyers, squeezing other markets, and Connected Living is expected to shrink 15% to $2.3 billion, while healthcare fell short in the fourth quarter on equipment delays and a slipped customer program. Jabil is adding more than $8.5 billion of revenue in fiscal 2027, which management called unprecedented, and a second hyperscale customer is expected to pass 10% of total revenue, while net inventory days of 64 remain above the 55 to 60 day target.

Vor Biopharma's Telitacicept Shows Durable Responses in Phase 3 Myasthenia Gravis Analysis

Vor Biopharma reported a post hoc analysis from a China-based Phase 3 trial showing that telitacicept produced deep, durable clinical responses and was generally well tolerated over 48 weeks in adults with generalized myasthenia gravis. The analysis highlighted that most patients who reached minimal symptom expression maintained it and spent much of their remaining follow-up in this state. The new data reinforce the depth and durability of response but do not materially change the key near-term catalyst, the UPSTREAM global Phase 3 topline readout in 2027, or the central risk that global data might not match prior China experience. The results sit beside Vor's completion of enrollment in the global UPSTREAM Phase 3 gMG trial in early September 2026. Vor Biopharma's narrative projects $111.0 million revenue and $19.1 million earnings by 2029, implying an earnings decrease of $608.7 million from $627.8 million today, and forecasts a $39.00 fair value, a 109% upside to its current price.

Yamagata Bank and Daiwa Securities Sign Alliance on Securities Services

The Yamagata Bank, Ltd. and Daiwa Securities Co. Ltd. agreed on 1 October 2026 to a memorandum of understanding for a comprehensive business alliance covering the integration of securities accounts, expanded intermediary services, and advanced consulting capabilities for customers in Yamagata Prefecture and nearby regions. Under the plan, Daiwa Securities will transfer and integrate most local securities accounts while seconding specialists into Yamagata Bank, a move that could reshape how full-service investment and inheritance advice is delivered in the region. The impact will depend on the eventual 2027 agreement and 2028 roll out, with the alliance potentially acting as a short term catalyst if investors factor in higher fee income, stickier customer relationships, or better use of Daiwa's product shelf. At the same time, transferring most securities accounts and relying on an intermediary model introduces execution and relationship risks alongside existing concerns about low return on equity, volatile shares and an inexperienced board. A single Simply Wall St Community fair value estimate for Yamagata Bank clusters at ¥1,348.60 per share, well below the current market price.

Micron Adds $43 Billion in Quarterly Sales as AI Demand Drives Blowout Earnings

Micron beat sales and profit forecasts for its latest quarter, driven by voracious demand from the AI boom, with guidance also strong except for margin comments on the earnings call that may have caused a muted market reaction. Operating margins exploded in all business segments, exceeding 80% in some segments. Micron executives signaled tight capacity and higher prices for its products until 2028, with D.A. Bernstein estimates third-quarter growth at about 8.4%, with second and third quarter growth combined at about 10.4% after adjusting for the timing of Prime Day, while first-quarter growth was 9.7%. Bernstein: AI agents pose long-term risk to Booking, Expedia over Airbnb

AI agents that can search, compare prices and complete travel bookings are beginning to challenge the economics of online travel agencies, with Booking Holdings and Expedia facing greater long-term risk than Airbnb, Bernstein analysts said. The immediate financial impact remains modest, since much of today's agent-driven travel demand is still routed through online travel agencies, potentially providing bookings without the associated customer acquisition costs. Over the longer term, AI agents create three major risks for traditional OTAs: disintermediation, pressure on commission rates and increased price competition, and that matters especially for Booking, where directing customers towards higher-commission inventory provides an estimated 10% revenue uplift. On price discovery, Booking and Expedia brands offered the cheapest hotel rate only about 15% of the time in U.S. searches examined in 2026, while smaller OTAs supplied the lowest price 77% of the time. Airbnb appears better positioned, with about 70% of its nine million active listings estimated to be exclusive to the platform, about 45% of web traffic arriving directly, and around 90% of guests messaging hosts after making a reservation. The revenue model adopted by AI agents could determine the eventual impact, with user-funded agents seeking unbiased results posing the greatest threat to OTAs, whereas advertising-supported models could preserve more of the existing travel distribution economics.

Phillip Securities expects SET to trade sideways next week in a 1,560–1,590 range, recommends banking stocks as a safe haven

The research team at Phillip Securities expects the SET Index next week, from October 5 to October 9, 2026, to move sideways within a range of 1,560 to 1,590 points, with the main pressure coming from external sentiment, including concerns over the Federal Reserve's monetary policy direction and FOMC Minutes that are likely to reflect a hawkish stance. Meanwhile, Logan, a hawkish Fed governor, is expected to voice concern over the inflation outlook, which could keep bond yields elevated and weigh on equity valuations, particularly in the technology sector. In this context, the research team sees banking stocks as attractive as a safe haven. It also advises keeping an eye on Thailand's September CPI release, with the market expecting headline CPI to rise 3.10% year on year, accelerating significantly from 2.53% year on year, while core CPI is expected to rise 1.58% year on year, compared with 1.44% year on year in August. This is consistent with domestic retail diesel prices in September, which rose 26.0% year on year, accelerating from 17.7% year on year in August. However, the research team sees limited downside, given expectations that the flood situation, especially in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces, will ease and that people will enter the government's relief process, which the research team views as an opportunity to speculate on repair and construction stocks. Meanwhile, on speculation over third-quarter 2026 earnings, the Bloomberg Consensus expects earnings per share in that quarter to grow 18.01% year on year, and China's Golden Week is likely to be a boost for tourism stocks and related shares. For global stock markets, the research team expects sideways to sideways-down trading, with the US services PMI still likely to remain above the 50 level. It recommends a selective buy on large-cap US stocks with revenue and profit growth trends that are likely to continue, a wait-and-see approach on the Japanese, South Korean, and Chinese markets, which are closed for extended holidays, and gradual accumulation of gold when prices weaken to the $4,000 to $4,100 per ounce level.

Innovest X warns of 7 risk factors for the fourth quarter, advises against chasing prices, sets SET target of 1,715 points for 2027

Innovest X Securities has released its fourth-quarter 2026 investment strategy, warning investors to watch for seven risk signals stemming from fragile macroeconomic factors, and advising them to avoid chasing prices, to select stocks with strong financial positions, and to diversify across a range of assets. Suthichai Kumworachai, Head of Investment Strategy & Research, said the prolonged conflict between the United States and Iran could create a chain of risk running from elevated oil prices to inflation, financing costs, and the baht. He views developed markets such as the United States as more attractive than emerging markets, while the Thai stock market still benefits from accelerated government disbursement and investment. Dr. Piyasak Manasant, Chief Economist, maintained his GDP forecasts for Thailand in 2026 and 2027 at 2.0%, even with the flooding in Bangkok, because the impact is limited in scope and the Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2 measures will offset it. He also raised his average oil price assumptions for 2026 and 2027 to 90 and 80 US dollars per barrel, respectively. Sittichai Duangrattanachaya, Chief Investment Strategist, said corporate earnings continue to support the market, with the earnings-per-share estimate for the Thai stock market rising steadily on the back of the energy sector, and set a SET Index target of 1,715 points for 2027, with the 1,550-point area a level at which gradual accumulation starts to look attractive. Domestic standout stocks include AMATA, CENTEL, CRC, KTB, and PR9, while foreign stocks focus on AI beneficiaries such as Google, Amazon, Nvidia, Tencent, and Alibaba. Jaranpong Rattanasopha, Head of Investment Product Specialist, recommended the M-SCHD fund, which invests through the Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF, or SCHD, whose technology holdings are less than 10%, compared with nearly 40% for the S&P 500, and whose correlation with the S&P 500 has fallen to about 0.3, the lowest level since the fund was established in 2011. CIBC Lifts Enerflex Price Target to CA$30 on 450 MW Data Center Power Contract

CIBC raised its price target on Enerflex to CA$30 from CA$27.50 after updating its model for a 450 MW behind-the-meter power generation award tied to a North American data center developer, while keeping a Neutral rating on the stock. The firm had already lifted its target to CA$30 in July 2026, and it cited strong Engineered Systems bookings and a modest EBITDA beat in the second quarter as positives supporting execution on the core business. CIBC noted that earlier weakness in the shares followed a lack of secured data center power generation bookings, which it believes pushed potential catalysts into later quarters. On the updated assumptions, Simply Wall St's fair value for Enerflex rose to CA$46.94 from CA$44.50, with revenue growth now 6.72% versus 3.39% previously, net profit margin at 8.64% versus 9.01%, a future P/E of 18.29x versus 17.87x, and a discount rate of 6.83% versus 6.68%.

Pegasystems Launches Launchpad.io Conversational AI Assistant

Pegasystems announced Launchpad.io's AI Assistant, a conversational development tool that lets enterprises design, build, and evolve applications using natural language while preserving governance, reliability, and scalability. The assistant turns plain-language business requirements directly into application logic, workflows, and data models, which could widen participation in enterprise software development across non-technical teams. The launch follows the general availability of Pega Infinity 26 in July 2026, which introduced broader AI assistants, agentic workflows, and no token pricing across the core platform, with Launchpad.io extending those ideas into more accessible, conversational app creation. Pegasystems' narrative projects $2.3 billion in revenue and $334.9 million in earnings by 2029, requiring 10.1% yearly revenue growth and an earnings increase of about $10.9 million from $324.0 million today, while some of the most optimistic analysts already expected about US$2.4 billion in revenue and roughly US$397.9 million in earnings. NIKE Cuts Fiscal 2027 Revenue Outlook, Warns of High Single-Digit Decline

NIKE paired softer first quarter results with a warning that fiscal 2027 revenue is expected to decline in the high single digits. The stock fell 3.64% on the day of the update and is down 11.80% over the past month and 46.48% year to date, with a 1 year total shareholder return decline of 51.36%. Salesforce Authorizes $50 Billion Buyback, Executes Half in Weeks

Salesforce authorized a $50 billion share repurchase program in February 2026 and executed half of it within weeks through the largest accelerated share repurchase in corporate history. The buyback equals roughly a quarter of the company's market value, which sits under $200 billion, and comes as Salesforce generated $17.73 billion of levered free cash flow over the past twelve months on revenue of $43.94 billion, with an operating margin of 21.38% and a net margin of 21.99%. Revenue grew 10.80% in the most recent quarter while earnings grew 86.90%, yet the stock closed at $234.69 on October 2, down 4.51% over twelve months against a roughly 14% gain for the S&P 500, and trades at 13.99 times next year's estimates versus about 19 times for the index. The company carries $42.38 billion of debt against $11.4 billion of cash, and its share count has already fallen from 997 million to 895.5 million. The article questions whether redirecting capital to buybacks signals the end of Salesforce's acquisition-driven growth era, particularly as generative AI raises doubts about future seat-based demand.

Bualuang Securities expects SET to test 1,780 points in Q4 on tech boom and foreign inflows

Bualuang Securities assesses that the Thai stock market is clearly on an uptrend from the fourth quarter of 2026 through the first half of 2027, with a chance to test 1,780 points in a positive scenario. In its base case, it targets the SET at 1,710 points by the end of 2027, based on SET EPS of 106 baht, down 4% year on year, and a target PER of 16.0 times, about 0.25 standard deviations below the 10-year average. The decline in overall earnings comes mainly from upstream energy, refineries and petrochemicals, as oil prices, refining margins and petrochemical spreads trend down from a high base in 2026. Meanwhile, the earnings growth leaders in 2027 shift to electronics, driven by demand for AI and data center-related components, along with tourism and transport, and consumer goods retail. Analysts cite three positive drivers: the global technology wave supporting exports, investment and electricity demand, with Thai electronics exports expected to grow 55% in 2026 and 40% in 2027, while FDI investment is expected to grow 50% and 25% respectively. The global industrial cycle is still in an early recovery phase that began in March 2026, with the US Manufacturing PMI at 53.0 in August 2026, and foreign capital is likely to keep flowing in. A study of data from 2016 to 2026 found that when six factors were simultaneously above their averages, foreign capital inflows over the following three months were positive 89% of the time, with a median inflow of 34 billion baht. Analysts nonetheless warn of risks from a prolonged war and one more Fed rate hike to 4.25%, which could pressure SET valuations, even though the market still has a cushion from an earnings yield gap of 4.8%, above the 10-year average of 4.0%. They also lay out a three-phase portfolio strategy. Phase one, in the fourth quarter of 2026, uses a barbell strategy focused on PTT, PTTGC, GULF, GPSC, GUNKUL, CRC, COM7, AOT, AWC, CENTEL, BH and BDMS, while gradually accumulating CBG, ICHI and BGRIM. Phase two, in the first half of 2027, rotates from cyclical winners to anti-commodity and earnings recovery plays. Phase three, in the second half of 2027, shifts to a core-satellite strategy.

Semtech Fair Value Raised to US$210.33 as Analysts Back Data Center and LoRa

Semtech's modeled fair value has been lifted from US$204.83 to US$210.33, reflecting a modestly higher assessment of the stock's worth in the updated framework. The revision follows a broad pattern of raised price targets from Oppenheimer, Roth Capital, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Seaport Research, and BMO Capital, tied largely to stronger expected contributions from data center and LoRa. Oppenheimer noted that data center exposure has shifted from about 5% of sales a couple of years ago to a figure it expects to exceed 40% by the end of the current year, while Roth Capital and UBS said data center and LoRa together are approaching 60% of the mix and supporting expanding gross margins over time. Morgan Stanley kept an Equal Weight rating even after lifting its target, and Roth Capital flagged potential confusion around guidance following the divestiture of cellular modules, which removes at least US$40m of quarterly sales and associated earnings. Alongside the fair value change, the revenue growth assumption moved from 27.53% to 34.83%, the net profit margin assumption from 24.19% to 30.20%, the future P/E from 58.82x to 32.02x, and the discount rate from 11.27% to 11.40%.

Arm's Data-Center Chip Push Tests Its Licensing Moat

Arm Holdings is moving beyond designing processors for others by selling its own data-center CPU, a shift that could capture more revenue per system but changes its relationship with the customers that license its technology. In its fiscal 2027 first-quarter results released July 29, Arm reported $1.29 billion of revenue, with royalties of $715 million, up 22%, and licensing and other revenue of $574 million, up 23%, while data-center royalty revenue more than doubled. Arm said its AGI CPU had been delivered to initial customers and that it had secured capacity for a $1 billion revenue opportunity across fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028, with management describing demand exceeding $2 billion over those two years, a figure it characterized as demand commentary rather than recognized revenue or a guaranteed order book. At a September 30 market-data snapshot, Arm traded at roughly 59 times enterprise value to trailing revenue and about 205 times trailing free cash flow, and the company had 15,521,694 shares sold short at the September 15 settlement with 3.9 days to cover. The bull case rests on Arm earning royalties from customers' processors while using its own product to accelerate adoption of its architecture, while the bear case is a gradual erosion of neutrality as customers grow reluctant to share roadmaps with a supplier competing for the same server budget.

US jobs data misses forecasts, boosting Thai non-bank and power stocks

US non-farm payrolls rose by just 29,000 in September, far below the 90,000 economists had expected in a Reuters poll, and figures for the two prior months were revised down. The unemployment rate edged up to 4.2%, against economists' expectations that it would hold steady at 4.1%. The data led investors to scale back bets that the Fed will raise interest rates by at least 0.25% at its late-October meeting, with CME FedWatch showing the odds falling to 22.7% from 24.4% the previous day and 64.2% a week earlier. This supported US stocks and bodes well for Thai equities, especially rate-sensitive sectors such as property, power plants and financials, including AEONTS and SAWAD, which trade at 0.79 and 0.90 times book value respectively. Analysts, meanwhile, are highlighting TIDLOR and MTC as top picks. All 16 analysts polled unanimously recommend buying TIDLOR, which Kasikorn Securities gives a mid-2027 target price of 24.40 baht after raising this year's profit forecast by 2% to 6.163 billion baht, lifting 2027 by 5% to 6.638 billion baht and 2028 by 3% to 7.3 billion baht, while raising its long-term ROE assumption to 16% from 15.2%. For MTC, Krungsri Securities maintains a buy rating with a 2027 target price of 44 baht, citing manageable asset quality and potential upside to this year's and next year's net profit from provisioning expenses.

KS Expects Livestock Group Profit to Surge 13.8% in 2027, Picks CPF and BTG as Top Picks

Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited, or KS, stated that its research division forecasts the combined normal profit of the livestock group, which comprises Betagro Public Company Limited, or BTG, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, or CPF, GFPT Public Company Limited, or GFPT, and Thai Foods Group Public Company Limited, or TFG, to reach 38.2 billion baht in 2027, up 13.8% from the same period a year earlier, even though sales are expected to grow by only 2.3%. The growth is supported by the group's gross profit margin, which is expected to rise to 16.2% from 15.8% in 2026. KS stated that the profit growth will come from a better spread between livestock prices and feed costs, an increase in operating leverage, expansion into downstream businesses, and an improved product mix, which is shifting the livestock group from a cyclical recovery toward more sustainable profit growth. For the Thai swine market, KS assumes a pig price of 70 baht per kilogram in 2027, while for China it assumes 12 yuan per kilogram, and it maintains its 2027 broiler price assumption at 42 baht per kilogram. It assumes corn and soybean meal prices in 2027 at 10.5 baht per kilogram and 16.5 baht per kilogram, respectively. KS maintains a neutral view on the livestock group and has selected CPF and BTG as its top picks, giving BTG a buy rating with a target price of 24.80 baht and CPF a buy rating with a target price of 26.00 baht.
BTG.BK · Capital · Positive KS gives BTG a buy rating with a 24.80 baht target price as a top pick in the livestock group.

Citi Warns U.S. Midterms Could Weigh on Equities Before Year-End Rally

Citi said U.S. equities could face increased political risk ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, with historical patterns pointing to weaker performance into the vote followed by a recovery as election uncertainty fades. The bank said midterm election years have historically produced the weakest equity performance of the four-year presidential cycle, and it expects an election-related risk premium to build before voting, typically beginning about 50 business days ahead of the election and peaking in the weeks before it. Citi's analysis suggests the main equity impact could come from uncertainty rather than the election result itself, with stocks historically selling off ahead of midterms before staging a relief rally into year-end regardless of the eventual outcome. A shift toward divided government could also affect markets through fiscal policy expectations, as divided Congresses have historically been supportive for bonds because political gridlock reduces expectations for major fiscal stimulus or sweeping legislation. The bank cautioned that the current cycle has additional complications, including a large U.S. fiscal deficit and debt-ceiling negotiations expected in 2027, which could limit how much historical election patterns translate into market moves this time.
C · · Neutral Citi's own research warns midterm political risk could weigh on equities before a year-end rally, but the note is a market call, not a company-specific development.

Intel Data Center Revenue Jumps 59% as CEO Flags Demand Outpacing Supply

Intel's Data Center and AI revenue rose 59% year-over-year to $6.3 billion in the second quarter, outpacing the company's overall topline growth of 25%, as the chipmaker pushes an AI-driven turnaround built on CPUs, ASICs, advanced packaging and its foundry network. CEO Lip-Bu Tan said Intel can currently meet only roughly half of processor demand, a supply constraint the article frames as a potential market-share opportunity rather than a pure setback. Intel holds a 49% stake in chipmaker Altera, which has confidentially filed for a U.S. IPO, and management has issued a mid-20% revenue expansion outlook for 2026. The stock closed at $120.23 on September 30, a 225.83% year-to-date return, giving Intel a market capitalization of $635.55 billion, roughly 11 times trailing revenue of $57.03 billion, with a forward P/E of 63.29x. Hedge fund holdings tracked by Insider Monkey rose to 138 in the second quarter of 2026 from 112 in the first quarter, with BlackRock the largest institutional stakeholder at 426.48 million shares, or 8.46% of outstanding shares, as of June 30.

Analysts Lift Star Bulk Carriers Earnings Forecast to $1.33 Per Share

Analysts raised their earnings forecasts for Star Bulk Carriers in late September 2026, projecting earnings per share of US$1.33 and nearly 50% revenue growth versus the prior-year quarter while reiterating a Zacks Rank #1 rating and pointing to the company's valuation discount to peers. The upgrade sharpened attention on how Star Bulk's fundamentals compare with other US shipping names. The higher outlook follows an August 2026 dividend increase to US$0.90 per share, which together with stronger current earnings highlights the importance of the company's capital allocation choices at a time when analysts still expect longer term revenue to decline. Star Bulk Carriers' narrative projects $1.0 billion revenue and $467.0 million earnings by 2029, requiring a 5.6% yearly revenue decline and a $179.8 million earnings increase from $287.2 million today, and yields a $34.04 fair value, an 11% upside to its current price. At the optimistic end, some analysts were penciling in earnings of about US$606.3 million by 2029 before this latest EPS upgrade.

SAIC Fair Value Estimate Raised to US$133.70 After Analyst Revisions

The updated analyst model for Science Applications International now points to a fair value of US$133.70, up from US$121.50, a change of about 10%. The revision follows the latest Q2 report and updated guidance, with several firms including TD Cowen, Jefferies, UBS, Truist and Stifel raising their price targets. Jefferies and Truist both highlighted surprise 5% organic revenue growth in fiscal Q2, and Stifel pointed to a clean beat and raise with margins surprising to the upside. Citi Lifts Bitcoin Forecast to $113,000 as Fed Pause Bets Build

Citi analyst Alex Saunders raised his base-case price forecast for bitcoin to $113,000 from $82,000. The token hovered near $85,000 on Friday as bond yields briefly eased and seasonal trends turned supportive, with ether also rising as strategists pointed to signs of a bullish trend for cryptocurrencies. Fundstrat head of digital assets Sean Farrell said seasonality is becoming a tailwind, noting October has historically been crypto's strongest month with around an 80% win rate, and that the setup shifted in a bullish direction over the past couple of days. Federal Reserve rhetoric has become somewhat more measured, and a weak jobs report has reduced expectations for further rate hikes, with more than 75% of market participants now expecting policymakers to hold rates steady at their October meeting. Farrell cautioned that continued stress in sovereign bonds and credit could lead to a short-term drawdown in crypto, but said the more stress priced in without breaking bitcoin, the better the forward risk/reward becomes, and pointed to a recent decline in 2-year real yields that could support the token by reducing the appeal of short-term government debt.

BTIG: Half-Size Robots Dominate Humanoid Shipments, Only 32% Full-Size

BTIG analyst Jesse Sobelson said the humanoid robot industry has split into two largely separate product classes, with half-size systems, mostly Chinese, measuring roughly 94–138 cm and weighing 12–40 kg, and full-size machines generally standing 165–190 cm tall and weighing 47–90 kg. BTIG estimates that major players Unitree and AgiBot had built approximately 31K humanoids through June, of which only about 9.8K, or 32%, were full-size units of any type, and full-size bipeds represented only about 13% of cumulative production. Sobelson warned that industry shipment figures can be misleading if interpreted as evidence of broad adoption of human-scale robotic labor, since many of the estimated +40K cumulative shipments through mid-2026 were smaller, lower-cost Chinese units rather than industrial-grade humanoid bipeds. Hangzhou-based Unitree's smaller R1 and G1 products are priced approximately from $4,900 to $21,500 depending on configuration, and BTIG expects Unitree's 2026 shipments to at least double from around 6,000 in 2025, while the company plans for an annual capacity of 30K units. Tesla is the major potential challenger to the current half-size dominance, with BTIG saying Tesla anticipated Optimus production at Fremont later in 2026 but warned that initial output would be slow because the new line includes about 10K unique parts; Sobelson views Tesla, along with Figure, 1X, and Boston Dynamics, as the key players if there is to be a future shift toward full-size systems.

Krungsri stays positive on banking sector, picks KBANK and KTB as top stocks

Krungsri Securities Public Company Limited maintains a positive view on the banking sector, assessing that ROE in 2027F has room to rise from 2026F, driven by the expected end of the interest rate downcycle, the return of a new investment cycle, and growth in the wealth management business. Krungsri views the banking sector investment theme as Investment Cycle & Wealth Management Driven, and investment projects in Thailand worth a combined total of more than 8 trillion baht will be a key driver of loan growth ahead. Meanwhile, the wealth management business, which accounts for roughly 25-35% of fee and service income and 5-10% of total revenue, carries high margins. For third-quarter 2026 results, Krungsri expects the seven banks under its coverage to post combined net profit of approximately 56 billion baht, down 10% year on year but up 1% quarter on quarter. The year-on-year decline is mainly due to lower NIM following policy rate cuts and a shift in lending toward lower-risk segments. On asset quality, Krungsri expects the group's gross NPLs to rise about 2% quarter on quarter, putting the NPL ratio at 3.64%, up from 3.59% in the second quarter of 2026, and expects banks to keep paying high dividends for 2026, with an estimated dividend yield of about 5-6%. He recommended a fourth-quarter strategy focused on stock selection rather than buying the whole market, viewing levels below 1,550 points as an accumulation point for fundamentally strong stocks such as AMATA, CENTEL, CRC, KTB and PR9. For fixed income, he recommended focusing on 3-5 year maturities to capture still-attractive carry yield and reduce risk from interest rate volatility, with an overweight to developed-market bonds. On gold, the firm maintained a positive medium- to long-term view, estimating a 12-month price target of 5,300 US dollars per ounce on demand for diversification and capital flowing back into gold ETFs. The Thai stock market from the start of 2026 through the close on October 1, 2026 saw the SET Index at 1,563.91 points, up about 24.15% from 1,259.67 points at the end of 2025. Domestic retail investors were the largest net buyers at 58,807.49 million baht, while domestic institutional investors were the largest net sellers at about 86,397.26 million baht. From late September through early October 2026, foreign investors sold Thai shares for eight consecutive trading sessions totaling more than 34,162 million baht. Data from the Thai Bond Market Association showed that in September 2026 foreign investors were net sellers of Thai bonds worth 22,003 million baht, bringing the cumulative year-to-date net foreign selling of Thai bonds to 9,426 million baht.

Sinch Fair Value Rises to SEK 44.83 as Analysts Split on RCS Expansion

Sinch's fair value estimate has been lifted to about SEK 44.83 from SEK 41.00, a roughly 9.3% increase, as analysts diverge sharply on the company's growth and execution outlook. Cantor Fitzgerald upgraded Sinch to Overweight from Neutral with a SEK 43 price target, while JPMorgan raised its target to SEK 66 from SEK 45 and kept an Overweight rating. On the bearish side, Pareto initiated coverage with a Sell rating and a SEK 35 target, and DNB Carnegie cut the stock to Hold from Buy with a SEK 55 target. The revised valuation also reflects revenue growth moving from about 4.32% to roughly 6.14%, profit margin from about 4.07% to roughly 5.07%, and a future P/E shifting from about 22.82x to roughly 19.32x. The analyst debate centers on Sinch's use of AI, machine learning and partnerships with platforms like Salesforce and Microsoft, the role of omnichannel messaging and RCS rollout in its revenue mix, and execution risks including slow organic net sales growth and competitive pressure in U.S. messaging.

HPE Raises Fiscal 2027 Networking Outlook, Lands $1.2 Billion Vultr AI Order

Hewlett Packard Enterprise raised its fiscal 2027 networking revenue growth forecast to between high-teens and low-20s percent, up from the 14% to 17% projection it gave earlier in September, and secured a $1.2 billion order from cloud infrastructure provider Vultr for AMD-based artificial intelligence server racks paired with Juniper networking switches. The company also lifted its annual cost-synergy target from the Juniper Networks acquisition to $800 million by the end of fiscal 2028, up from at least $600 million, and projected Data Center Networking revenue to grow at a low-to-high 50s percent compound annual rate through fiscal 2029. Following the networking investor day presentation, Citigroup raised its price target on the stock to $92 from $76 while keeping a Buy rating, citing confidence in durable demand and expanding AI infrastructure orders. A cooler-than-expected U.S. jobs report added secondary momentum, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting that employers added 29,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in September, trailing the 84,000 consensus estimate from economists polled by Dow Jones. HPE shares jumped 7.8% in the afternoon session and are up 189% since the beginning of the year, reaching a new 52-week high of $69.77 per share.

Nebius Group Fair Value Estimate Cut to US$283.58 as Analysts Split on AI Growth

The central fair value estimate for Nebius Group has been lowered to US$283.58 from US$312.67, reflecting more cautious Street research that weighs enthusiasm for the company's AI-focused cloud infrastructure against concerns over valuation, capital needs and execution risk. The revision came alongside adjustments to the underlying model assumptions: the revenue growth assumption moved from 181.88% to 179.89%, the net profit margin input from 7.91% to 6.96%, the future P/E multiple from 57.25x to 59.17x, and the discount rate from 8.63% to 8.73%. On the bullish side, William Blair described Nebius as not just another neocloud, citing infrastructure scale, software capabilities and major customer relationships, while Buy and Outperform ratings from Goldman Sachs, Citi, BofA, Baird, Truist, Northland, Freedom Capital and BNP Paribas carried price targets in some cases above US$300, and above US$400 and US$390 for Northland and BNP Paribas respectively. On the bearish side, Rothschild & Co Redburn initiated coverage with a Sell rating and a US$84 price target, questioning whether equity markets fully reflect leverage and off-balance-sheet commitments tied to AI infrastructure, while Piper Sandler and BTG Pactual sat at Neutral with price targets in the low US$200s, flagging a more balanced risk and reward profile including earlier concerns around the Vineland data center and comparisons with peer CoreWeave.
