Flood risk fades, brokers pick CRC for Q4 recovery and stockpiling

  • Flood impact seen as short-lived; CRC named a stockpiling winner Bangkok flooding pressured malls and restaurants briefly, but brokers including InnovestX and Bualuang call it short-term and less severe than 2011. CRC is named in the 'consumer staples and stockpiling' theme, as shoppers rush to buy essentials. That supports the share price by keeping near-term sales resilient.

This is the main new event of the period and directly explains both the risk and the offsetting demand for CRC.

  • CRC launches Thailand-Vietnam QR cross-border payments CRC signed with Vietnam's NAPAS and VietinBank to let Vietnamese tourists scan-and-pay at its 3,000+ Thai branches, and Thai tourists pay in Central Retail Vietnam stores. This makes spending easier for tourists, which can lift sales and reinforces CRC's Vietnam growth story.

It is a concrete new company action that supports revenue and the Vietnam expansion narrative.

  • Multiple brokers pick CRC as a top Q4 2026 stock InnovestX, Kasikorn Securities, Trinity and the IAA survey all highlight CRC as a top pick or a stock recommended by four or more houses for Q4 2026. That matters because it can draw fresh buying from funds and retail investors, pushing the price up.

It shows broad analyst support that can drive money into the stock, a key force behind the price.

  • Flood still a short-term drag on mall traffic Trinity Securities warned that flooding could temporarily reduce visits to shopping malls and restaurants, including CRC's. That is a real counterweight to the positive stockpiling view, though most brokers expect the dip to reverse within a week or two as water recedes.

It gives the fair counterweight: not all flood effects are positive for CRC, and readers need to know the risk.

Q3 2026

CRC beats Q2, expands in Vietnam and Tops, but cuts 2026 revenue target

  • Q2 earnings beat and broker upgrades Central Retail beat Q2 profit forecasts, with margins widening and same-store sales positive after seven quarters. Broker upgrades lifted the shares over 11% during the quarter.

This is the main new earnings catalyst that drove the stock higher in Q3.

  • Store expansion in Thailand and Vietnam CRC agreed to buy 30 MaxValu stores for 890 million baht to expand Tops, and announced a US$1.5 billion Vietnam expansion of about 50 stores, adding long-term growth.

These new expansion moves are a key part of the quarter's growth story.

  • Government stimulus and cross-border payments Thailand's stimulus extension and new Thailand-Vietnam QR payments added support, helping consumer spending and cross-border shopping during the quarter.

These external supports helped offset weaker demand and are new this period.

  • Cut in 2026 revenue growth target CRC cut its 2026 revenue growth target to 2-3% from 4-5% amid economic uncertainty, signaling weaker consumer demand. Bangkok flooding was mostly seen as short-lived, though it could temporarily reduce mall and restaurant traffic.

This is the main new negative that offsets the positive drivers.

InnovestX Recommends Buy on Dip with 3 Themes to Navigate Flooding, Expects Only 21 Billion Baht Hit to 2026 GDP

Equity and derivatives market strategists in the research department of InnovestX Securities Company Limited, or InnovestX, assess that the current flooding will have a limited impact on the economy and the SET, because it is merely water waiting to drain from heavy rainfall, unlike the 2011 crisis. In addition, water levels in the main dams remain lower than in 2011 and 2025. If the water recedes within one to two weeks, the impact on 2026 GDP is expected to be around 21 billion baht, or -0.11%, and the firm still expects Thai GDP to grow in line with its 2.0% target in 2026-2027. Historical data shows that in cases of short-term flooding lasting no more than seven days, the SET may dip an average of 0.6% initially before recovering into positive territory within one week. In cases of major flooding lasting more than seven days, the SET typically corrects an average of 3.8% in the first month and begins to recover from the second month onward, with Domestic Play stocks leading the market's recovery. InnovestX therefore recommends a Buy on Dip strategy to gradually accumulate Domestic Play stocks across three main themes. The first is Fast Recovery Plays, namely tourism names such as CENTEL and ERW and healthcare names such as BDMS and BCH. The second is Recovery & Repair Plays, namely commerce names such as HMPRO and GLOBAL and construction materials names such as DCC. The third is Consumer Staples & Stockpiling Plays, namely commerce names such as CPALL, BJC and CRC. At the same time, the firm advises caution on the insurance sector, which may come under pressure from a higher loss ratio.
BCH.BK · Demand · Positive InnovestX names BCH among Fast Recovery Plays (healthcare) to accumulate on the flooding dip.
BDMS.BK · Demand · Positive InnovestX names BDMS among Fast Recovery Plays (healthcare) to accumulate on the flooding dip.

InnovestX Says Q4 Strategy Favors Stock Picking, 3-5 Year Bonds, Gold Target of $5,300

InnovestX Securities Company Limited assessed its investment strategy for the fourth quarter of 2026, saying financial markets still face volatility from oil prices, inflation, interest rate direction and elevated bond yields, forcing investors to place greater weight on asset selection and investment timing. Sutthichai Kumworachai, Head of Investment Strategy & Research at InnovestX, said the firm raised its target for the Thai stock index in 2026 from 1,600 points to 1,700 points, after expecting market earnings per share in 2026 to grow about 22% and second-quarter economic data to be stronger than expected. He recommended a fourth-quarter strategy focused on stock selection rather than buying the whole market, viewing levels below 1,550 points as an accumulation point for fundamentally strong stocks such as AMATA, CENTEL, CRC, KTB and PR9. For fixed income, he recommended focusing on 3-5 year maturities to capture still-attractive carry yield and reduce risk from interest rate volatility, with an overweight to developed-market bonds. On gold, the firm maintained a positive medium- to long-term view, estimating a 12-month price target of 5,300 US dollars per ounce on demand for diversification and capital flowing back into gold ETFs. The Thai stock market from the start of 2026 through the close on October 1, 2026 saw the SET Index at 1,563.91 points, up about 24.15% from 1,259.67 points at the end of 2025. Domestic retail investors were the largest net buyers at 58,807.49 million baht, while domestic institutional investors were the largest net sellers at about 86,397.26 million baht. From late September through early October 2026, foreign investors sold Thai shares for eight consecutive trading sessions totaling more than 34,162 million baht. Data from the Thai Bond Market Association showed that in September 2026 foreign investors were net sellers of Thai bonds worth 22,003 million baht, bringing the cumulative year-to-date net foreign selling of Thai bonds to 9,426 million baht.
AMATA.BK · Demand · Positive InnovestX names AMATA among fundamentally strong stocks to accumulate on expected 22% 2026 EPS growth and stronger Q2 data.

Kasikorn Securities says September SSSG recovered to +1.0%, led by food and retail

Kasikorn Securities reported that same-store sales growth, or SSSG, recovered to +1.0% in September, up from +0.4% in August and +0.6% in July. That made it the best month of the third quarter of 2026, led by the food and convenience store segments, with BJC, CPALL, CRC and TAN standing out as stocks showing improving momentum. CPAXT saw its B2B business improve while B2C remained negative at a mid single-digit rate. The research team expects SSSG for the consumer staples group to accelerate to +1–2% in the third quarter of 2026 from +0.4% in the second quarter of 2026, while the luxury goods group should improve to +1–3% from +0.4%. CRC's food business remains strong at +4–6%, and TAN rebounded sharply by 10% in September. The home decoration group remains weak, with third-quarter 2026 SSSG expected to improve only slightly to about -1.0% from 1.3% in the second quarter of 2026. DOHOME came in at around +4–5% off a very low base, while GLOBAL was at about -5%, and HMPRO and CRC's hardline group remained negative at a low single-digit rate. Kasikorn Securities maintained a neutral view on the commerce sector and favours food-focused retailers such as CPALL, as well as CRC, on the momentum in their food and fashion businesses, while home decoration retailers have a chance of a strategic recovery from demand for repairs and home improvements following the floods since early October.

InnovestX Expects Thai Stocks to Stay Volatile, Sets This Year's Target at 1,700 Points and Next Year's at 1,715

InnovestX Securities Company Limited assesses that Thailand's financial markets will remain volatile throughout the fourth quarter of 2026, pressured by interest rate hikes from major central banks worldwide. Suthichai Koomworachai, Head of Investment Strategy & Research, said there are seven signals to watch: crude oil prices, government bond yields, public debt burdens, the US election, natural disasters and the El Niño phenomenon, demand for AI technology, and the earnings of listed companies. Dr. Piyasak Manasant, Head of Economic Research, estimates the impact of flooding on the economy, especially in Bangkok, at approximately 21,000 million baht, split into about 19,000 million baht in the third quarter of 2026 and another approximately 1,800 million baht in the fourth quarter of 2026, representing pressure on GDP of about -0.11%. However, there is a positive factor from the extension of the "Thai Chuay Thai Plus Phase 2" program, which supports GDP by about +0.08%, leaving the net impact at only about -0.03%. GDP is expected to grow 2.0% both this year and next year. Meanwhile, Sittichai Duangrattanachaya, Head of Investment Strategy, views this round of flooding as only a short-term event and expects that fund flows, which saw outflows of about 30,000 million baht over the past two weeks, will return to buy after the waters recede. He gives a suitable entry point of 1,500 to 1,550 points, maintains this year's SET target at 1,700 points, and sets next year's target at 1,715 points. Top picks for the fourth quarter of 2026 include AMATA with a target price of 44 baht, CENTEL with a target price of 47 baht, CRC with a target price of 31 baht, KTB with a target price of 49 baht, and PR9 with a target price of 23 baht.

Thai Stocks Fall Below 1,600 Points; InnovestX Cites 3 Pressures, Watches 1,560 Level

InnovestX Securities assesses that the Thai stock market has declined and fallen below the 1,600-point level, pressured by three main factors: US bond yields that remain elevated, selling by foreign investors, and concerns over the impact of the flood situation. During September 22-29, 2026, foreign investors posted net selling of Thai stocks for six consecutive trading days, totaling nearly 20 billion baht. Meanwhile, the SET has risen about 27% since the start of the year, with the energy, banking, and electronics sectors up 38.5%, 32.4%, and 53.5% respectively, prompting profit-taking to reduce risk. As for the outlook for the Thai stock market, the break below the 75-day moving average has damaged the short-term positive structure, with 1,560 points a key test of confidence. If it cannot hold, there is a chance of a decline to the 1,550-1,555 range; if it holds, a short-term technical rebound is possible, with resistance at 1,585-1,590 points. On investment strategy, a Selective Buy approach is recommended, temporarily avoiding large-cap stocks that rose sharply earlier and focusing on stocks tied to domestic purchasing power. The recommended stock list includes CPALL, CPN, and CRC in the commerce group, BCH and PR9 in the medical group, and TRUE in the communications group.
CPALL.BK · Demand · Positive Included in InnovestX's Selective Buy list as a stock tied to domestic purchasing power.
CPN.BK · Demand · Positive Included in InnovestX's Selective Buy list as a commerce-group play on domestic purchasing power.

Bangkok Floods Drag on SET; Brokers Point to 3 Stock Themes Set to Benefit After Waters Recede

Flooding in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces is weighing on the Thai stock market in the short term. Piriyaphon Kongwanich, a strategist at BLS Wealth Research of Bualuang Securities, estimates preliminary damage of roughly 10 billion to 30 billion baht and expects only a limited impact on gross domestic product and listed-company earnings. He flagged stocks that may draw interest, including HMPRO, GLOBAL, DOHOME and ILM, with the research team upgrading GLOBAL and DOHOME to speculative buy while keeping buy ratings on HMPRO and ILM. Thaweethak Taweethiratham, an executive director at Asia Plus Securities, assesses the overall impact as still limited and short-lived, with building materials benefiting from demand to repair homes, while retail, hospitals and food also have support. Sectors to watch for indirect effects include electronics, power plants, construction contractors, agriculture and commercial banks, while tourism, property and hire-purchase lending have already begun to feel negative effects. InnovestX Securities sees the pullback as a buying opportunity, noting that in past cases of short flooding lasting no more than seven days, the SET typically fell an average of about 0.6%, or 10 points, on the first day before turning positive within a week. It recommends a buy-on-dip strategy in domestic-play stocks through three themes: Recovery & Repair, comprising HMPRO, GLOBAL and DCC; Consumer Staples & Stockpiling, comprising CPALL, BJC and CRC; and Fast Recovery, comprising CENTEL, ERW, BDMS and BCH. The sector warranting added caution is insurance, given the risk that the loss ratio will rise from the damage incurred.
HMPRO.BK · Demand · Positive HMPRO is named among stocks to benefit from post-flood home repair demand and is kept at buy by BLS, and included in InnovestX's Recovery & Repair theme.
DOHOME.BK · Demand · Positive Upgraded to speculative buy by BLS and cited as a building-materials beneficiary of home-repair demand after the floods.
GLOBAL.BK · Demand · Positive Upgraded to speculative buy by BLS and cited as a building-materials play on post-flood repair demand.
BDMS.BK · Demand · Positive Listed in InnovestX's Fast Recovery theme, expected to benefit as flood-hit consumers resume hospital services.
BJC.BK · Demand · Positive Named in InnovestX's Consumer Staples & Stockpiling theme, seen benefiting from flood-related stockpiling demand.
CENTEL.BK · Demand · Positive Included in InnovestX's Fast Recovery theme, expected to rebound as tourism/hotel activity normalizes after waters recede.

Analysts at Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited have unveiled their Thai equity investment strategy for the fourth quarter of 2026, expecting Thailand's investment upcycle, driven by data centre investment and the PDP26 plan, to support growth momentum from the fourth quarter of 2026 through 2027. They expect power generation capacity serving data centres to rise to 5–7GW by 2030, and have raised their SET index target to 1,680 points, shifting the calculation base to an end-2027 target based on a 2027 SET EPS of 105 points and a long-term average PE of 16 times. TTBWEALTH Picks 8 Stocks to Benefit from Flooding, Highlighting Retail and Construction Materials

TTBWEALTH Public Company Limited, or TTBWEALTH, assesses that this round of flooding will have a limited impact on the economy, as it is short-term and severe only in certain areas, unlike the 2011 event that flooded many areas and lasted several weeks to several months. In the short term, some stocks have gained both positive and negative sentiment. The groups benefiting positively include consumer goods retail, led by CPALL, CPAXT and CRC, as well as the home improvement and construction materials group, which is expected to benefit from demand for home repairs after the water recedes, namely HMPRO, GLOBAL, DOHOME, TOA and TASCO. Meanwhile, the groups affected negatively include insurance, such as TIPH, and tourism, namely AOT, ERW and CENTEL. In addition, several listed companies have updated the situation. DELTA reported that some areas were flooded but machinery and factories were not damaged, and operations returned to normal today after production lines were halted last Sunday. CENTEL had only some hotels affected, such as the Lat Phrao area where water entered the lobby, and the Pattaya zone, with a small number of customer cancellations. Its food business saw some sales decline from temporary store closures, but overall the impact is considered limited. MINT stated that most of its hotels are not in flood zones, its properties were not damaged, and it continues to operate normally. CPN confirmed that no shopping centers were closed, though it may be affected by a decline in customer traffic during the floods, and it expects no rental discounts to be offered.

Piriyapol Kongwanich, Director of Investment Analysis for Wealth Management at Bualuang Securities, assesses that the Thai stock market remains on an uptrend from the fourth quarter of 2026 through the first half of 2027, with a chance of hitting a best-case target of 1,780 points before moving into a more range-bound phase. Three key tailwinds support this view: the global technology wave, an upcycle in global industry, and foreign capital inflows, all of which are supporting upward revisions to SET earnings forecasts. For the base case, the SET is projected to end 2027 at 1,710 points, based on SET EPS of 106 baht, down 4% year on year, and a target PER of 16.0 times. For fourth-quarter 2026 strategy, a barbell approach is recommended: the first core focuses on energy and petrochemicals, namely PTT and PTTGC, while the other core focuses on structural growth and stocks with earnings momentum, through the power group such as GULF, GPSC and GUNKUL, alongside retail stocks such as CRC and COM7, tourism stocks such as AOT, AWC and CENTEL, and hospital stocks such as BH and BDMS. For the first half of 2027, the recommendation is to gradually shift from Cyclical Winners toward greater Sector Rotation and Stock Selection, while in the second half of 2027 the focus should be on high-dividend stocks and companies with strong cash flows as the core of the portfolio.
PTT.BK · Capital · Positive Bualuang Securities recommends PTT as a core energy/petrochemical pick for Q4 2026 strategy, supporting positive sentiment.
PTTGC.BK · Capital · Positive Bualuang Securities recommends PTTGC as a core energy/petrochemical pick for Q4 2026 strategy, supporting positive sentiment.

Krungsri sees retail sector benefiting as floods recede, with Hat Yai flooding lifting home-repair stocks

Krungsri Securities Public Company Limited said its research team holds a neutral to slightly positive view on the retail sector under its coverage, assessing that the impact from branch closures and travel restrictions remains limited. If the situation does not drag on beyond one week, the impact on each company's sales will not exceed 1%. In the short term, operators of everyday consumer goods such as BJC, CPALL, CPAXT, CRC-Tops and GO Wholesale will benefit from stockpiling. CPALL has a convenience store network of about 6,700 branches in Bangkok and its vicinity, accounting for 41% of its total branches. Meanwhile, the home repair and decoration group, including CRC-Thai Watsadu, DOHOME, GLOBAL, HMPRO, ILM and MRDIYT, is expected to benefit more after the waters recede. HMPRO has 39 large-format branches in Bangkok and its vicinity, or 32% of all large-format branches in Thailand. Using the Hat Yai flooding of 21–28 November 2025 as a case study, the retail sector index rose 0.5% on the first day and 1.4% in the first week, with home-improvement stocks responding more strongly, led by HMPRO up 3% on the first day and 10% in the first week, GLOBAL up 3% and 9%, and DOHOME up 1% and 6%. The research team maintains a NEUTRAL weighting on the retail sector, selecting CRC, followed by MOSHI and MRDIYT, as its top picks in that order.

Trinity flags insurance stocks as pressured after flash floods in Bangkok

Analysts at Trinity Securities assess that the flash flooding in Bangkok over the past weekend could create sentiment pressure on insurance stocks, especially companies with auto and property insurance portfolios that may face rising claim costs and loss reserves, such as TIPH and THRE. In addition, groups tied to people's mobility, including shopping malls and restaurants such as CRC and CPN, as well as mass transit operators like BEM and BTS, may be affected by a short-term drop in traffic. Conversely, Trinity sees a chance of positive sentiment for consumer staples retail stocks, such as convenience store operator CPALL and hypermarkets BJC and CPAXT, which may see short-term demand for stockpiling goods, as well as the home improvement and construction materials sector, which may benefit from post-flood purchasing demand, such as HMPRO and TOA.

Krungsri Securities: Thai stocks to fluctuate above 1,600 points, watch US-China leaders

Krungsri Securities said the Thai stock market between 21 and 24 September 2026 moved above the 1,600-point level, supported by positive expectations that the US leader will meet the Chinese leader on 24-25 September, which boosts the prospect of further trade easing. Meanwhile, the electronics group gained positive momentum from AI after President Trump confirmed that the US will continue developing AI despite safety concerns, together with a boost from META's new AI that is helping accelerate demand. The refinery and petrochemical group, such as TOP, SPRC and PTTGC, rose on news that the US is preparing to ban or halt diesel exports, which if implemented would tighten diesel supply in the market and push refining margins higher. The banking group, such as KBANK and BBL, also rose on positive sentiment, supported by news that Fitch Ratings raised its outlook on Thailand's creditworthiness to Stable while keeping the credit rating at BBB+. The groups that fell more sharply than others included retail, such as CRC and CPALL, which faced negative sentiment from the Cabinet resolution extending the Thai Chuay Thai Plus measure, and exporters such as CPF, whose share price fell in line with Chinese hog prices, which dropped 1.8% week-on-week to RMB 10.64 per kg, or 53.00 baht per kg, from a cost of RMB 13.50 per kg, because of oversupply. Meanwhile, Thai hog prices were flat week-on-week at 75.50 baht per kg, against a cost of 60.00 baht per kg. Market earnings for 2026F stood at 110.9 baht, up slightly week-on-week, with the groups whose estimates were revised up being petrochemicals and packaging, while the groups revised down were agriculture and property. Last week, capital flowed out of Asia excluding Japan by a total of 1.661 billion dollars, with Thailand seeing an outflow of 95 million dollars, split into net stock sales of 107.5 million dollars and net bond buying of 12 million dollars. The baht was flat at 33.3 baht.
PTTGC.BK · Supply · Positive PTTGC rose with the refinery/petrochemical group on news the US may ban diesel exports, tightening diesel supply and lifting refining margins.
SPRC.BK · Supply · Positive SPRC rose on the potential US diesel export ban, which would tighten diesel supply and push refining margins higher.

Brokers say 'Nene Royal' buzz boosts Phuket; hotel stocks gain from high season, recommend accumulating AWC, CENTEL, ERW

Analysts view the buzz around 'Nene Royal', or Ms. Rattikan Amloy from Phuket province, who won season 21 of America's Got Talent, as helping build global recognition and drawing tourists to Phuket and lifting Thailand's overall tourism during this year-end travel season. Mr. Puwadon Pusodngern, an investment strategist in the research department at Bualuang Securities Public Company Limited, told 'Than Hoon' that Phuket's tourist arrival statistics were already growing well and ranked among the top in the country before the Nene Royal phenomenon, so it further strengthens this area. For hotel and tourism stocks with a customer base in Phuket, AWC is recommended with a fundamental target price of 4 baht, supported by advance bookings that lift profit through the first quarter of 2026 and a Phuket hotel portfolio that suits high-purchasing-power customers. CENTEL has a fundamental target price of 49 baht, benefiting from a low profit base that is ready to recover, and ERW has a fundamental target price of 4.50 baht, gaining less value benefit than AWC and CENTEL because it relies mainly on tourist numbers. The strategy recommends gradual accumulation. Meanwhile, CRC has a fundamental target price of 34 baht, supported directly by higher tourist spending, in line with an analysis by Maybank Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited, which holds a positive view on Thailand's tourism group, citing a recovering short-haul market, an upcycle in average room rates, a recovery in MICE spending led by China, and undemanding share prices. It prefers AWC over ERW and MINT given stronger earnings-per-share growth prospects.
AWC.BK · Demand · Positive Recommended with a 4 baht target, supported by advance bookings lifting profit through Q1 2026 and a Phuket hotel portfolio suited to high-purchasing-power tourists.
CENTEL.BK · Demand · Positive Recommended with a 49 baht target, benefiting from a low profit base ready to recover amid the high-season tourism boost.
ERW.BK · Demand · Positive Recommended with a 4.50 baht target, though it gains less benefit than AWC and CENTEL because it relies mainly on tourist numbers.
CRC.BK · Demand · Positive Has a 34 baht target, supported directly by higher tourist spending as Thailand's tourism group recovers.
MINT.BK · Competition · Neutral Only mentioned as a peer that Maybank prefers AWC over, with no company-specific development discussed.

Asia Plus keeps retail sector weighting at market weight, picks CRC, COM7 and BJC as top picks

Asia Plus Securities said the Cabinet meeting on 22 September 2026 approved an additional 1,000 baht for the Thai Chai Thai Plus scheme, adding 500 baht per month for October and November 2026 under the same conditions, with the government paying 60% and the public paying 40%. The purchase limit for state welfare cardholders was also raised to 1,000 baht per person per month in October 2026, from 300 baht per person per month previously. The research team holds a neutral view on the impact of the scheme's extension, since the monthly amount was cut to just 500 baht from 1,000 baht during June to September 2026, and retail companies have so far received very little direct benefit from the scheme because their stores do not meet the conditions for joining the programme. The businesses likely to see a small benefit are wholesale consumer goods, fresh food and some construction materials that shops buy in to resell, which supports BJC, CPAXT, CRC and DOHOME. CPALL sees a negative effect but a fairly limited one, while HMPRO and COM7 are seen as unaffected. For third-quarter 2026 earnings trends, the research team expects the sector's combined profit to fall quarter on quarter on seasonality but to grow well year on year on positive same-store sales growth, store expansion, better margins and lower interest expenses. The research team keeps its investment weighting for the sector at market weight and still picks CRC, COM7 and BJC as top picks, given third-quarter 2026 profit trends that should grow year on year more strongly than the sector.
BJC.BK · Demand · Positive BJC is named a top pick and a likely small beneficiary as a wholesale consumer goods business supported by the extended Thai Chai Thai Plus scheme.
CRC.BK · Demand · Positive CRC is a top pick and named among the likely small beneficiaries of the extended Thai Chai Thai Plus scheme.
CPALL.BK · Demand · Negative CPALL is seen as negatively affected, though fairly limited, by the scheme extension.
CPAXT.BK · Demand · Positive CPAXT is listed among businesses likely to see a small benefit from wholesale consumer goods and fresh food demand under the scheme.
COM7.BK · · Neutral COM7 is named a top pick on strong Q3 2026 profit growth, but the article explicitly says it is unaffected by the stimulus scheme.
DOHOME.BK · Demand · Positive The extended Thai Chai Thai Plus scheme supports wholesale consumer goods and construction materials that shops buy to resell, which the article says benefits DOHOME.

Bualuang Securities says retail margins are expanding, supporting profit growth through 2027

The Research team at Bualuang Securities says the retail sector still has growth drivers from structural margin expansion, which is expected to be a key driver of profits through 2027, supported by procurement efficiency, inventory management, and an improving sales mix. Core profit in the third quarter of 2026 is expected to rise 9% year on year even as same-store sales hold steady, with margin expansion helping profit grow faster than sales on a continuing basis, and improved profitability also stems from more efficient expense management. The three standout stocks, CPALL, CRC, and CPN, stand out for both gross margin expansion and an improving ratio of selling and administrative expenses to sales. CPALL trades at a 2027 PER of just 12 times, while CRC benefits directly from tourist spending, and CPN will gain additional revenue from existing shopping malls from tourist spending. The Research team assigns an OVERWEIGHT rating to the retail sector, overweighting essential and discretionary retail and underweighting home improvement and decoration retail, given limited profit growth opportunities in 2027 after the temporary boost from margin expansion begins to fade.
CPALL.BK · Capital · Positive Bualuang highlights CPALL's gross margin expansion, improving SG&A-to-sales ratio, and cheap 2027 PER of 12x as a standout retail pick.
CPN.BK · Demand · Positive CPN is expected to gain additional revenue from existing shopping malls from tourist spending.
CRC.BK · Demand · Positive CRC benefits directly from tourist spending, supporting its sales mix and margin expansion.

Kasikorn Securities expects Thai Help Thai Plus extension to lift 2026 GDP to 2.2-2.3%, favors CRC and MOSHI

Kasikorn Securities said in an analysis that the Cabinet's approval to extend the Thai Help Thai Plus program by another two months through November 2026, using roughly 43 billion baht remaining from the original program, could boost Thailand's economic growth prospects in 2026 through consumption, with gross domestic product possibly expanding about 2.2-2.3% versus the previous estimate of 2.0%. It therefore holds a mildly positive view on the Thai economy this year. On investment, Kasikorn Securities has a neutral to slightly negative view on retail stocks, since it had previously expected same-store sales to return to growth of about 3-4% after the original program ended in September 2026, but the two-month extension could pose a slight downside risk to same-store sales forecasts because those stores cannot join the program. Kasikorn Securities continues to favor Central Retail Corporation, or CRC, and Moshi Moshi Retail Corporation, or MOSHI, as they are expected to be only limitedly affected by the extension, along with fourth-quarter earnings momentum heading into the high season. The Thai Help Thai Plus (60/40) program is scheduled to run from October 1 to November 30, 2026, with the government co-paying 60% and the public paying 40%, with the government contributing no more than 200 baht per person per day and no more than 1,000 baht per person over the entire program.
CRC.BK · Demand · Positive Kasikorn Securities favors CRC, expecting it to be only limitedly affected by the Thai Help Thai Plus extension and to benefit from fourth-quarter earnings momentum into the high season.
MOSHI.BK · Demand · Positive Kasikorn Securities favors MOSHI, expecting it to be only limitedly affected by the Thai Help Thai Plus extension and to benefit from fourth-quarter earnings momentum into the high season.

Bualuang raises Thai stock market profit target, highlights 8 standout stocks CRC, AMATA, GUNKUL as energy beneficiaries

Bualuang Securities (BLS) has revised up its earnings estimate for the Thai stock market in September by 0.7% month-on-month and 15.6% since the start of the year. Piriyapon Kongwanich, Director of Investment Analysis for Wealth Management, said the main driver came from groups benefiting from energy and commodity prices amid prolonged wars. The petrochemical group was raised 6.2% month-on-month, led by PTTGC up 13% and IVL up 7%, while the energy group rose 1.8% on refineries BCP up 26%, TOP up 10% and SPRC up 9%, pushing PTT up another 2%. The agricultural group rose 2.1% on higher rubber prices, with STA raised 26%. On the other side, groups whose costs are linked to energy prices were revised down, led by PTG down 26% and OR down 4%, as well as SPP power plants such as BGRIM down 2% and GPSC down 1%. Meanwhile, businesses sensitive to the economy such as property, LH down 1% and ORI down 13%, also faced downgrades. This reflects a clearer divergence in earnings direction between industry groups and individual companies. The strategy therefore focuses on Earnings Leaders with strong profits. CRC is expected to post core profit growth of 25 to 30% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026 from same-store sales growth of around 2% and revenue growth of about 4% year-on-year. CBG is supported by domestic energy drink sales growing 10% year-on-year. BH and BDMS are entering a seasonal profit recovery period. AOT, AWC and CENTEL benefit from tourism entering the high season, with AOT's winter slots from October 2026 to March 2027 up 4% year-on-year and AWC's RevPAR in July to August up 23% year-on-year, while CENTEL rose 5 to 6% year-on-year. AMATA is supported by data center demand adding clarity to profits, and GUNKUL benefits from a recovery in wind power plants along with investment opportunities in transmission systems.
AMATA.BK · Demand · Positive AMATA is supported by data center demand adding clarity to profits, per Bualuang's standout picks.
BGRIM.BK · Supply · Negative BLS cut its earnings estimate for SPP power plants like BGRIM by 2% because their costs are linked to high energy prices.
CRC.BK · Demand · Positive CRC is expected to post 25-30% year-on-year core profit growth in Q3 2026 on same-store sales and revenue growth.
GPSC.BK · Capital · Negative BLS revised down SPP power plant earnings, with GPSC cut 1% as energy-linked costs weigh on profits.
GUNKUL.BK · Capital · Positive GUNKUL was highlighted as a standout benefiting from a recovery in wind power plants, supporting its profit outlook.

Today's stocks to watch span several key developments. Bangchak, or BCP, is changing its top leadership for the first time in 12 years, after the board unanimously resolved to appoint Bundit Hansapaiboon as the new CEO, succeeding Chaiwat Kovavisarach, whose term has ended, effective January 1, 2027, after more than a decade at the helm. Meanwhile, BCPG clarified the case in which the Department of Special Investigation requested information on its investment in the Phetchaburi oil depot and jetty project, confirming it is ready to cooperate fully and that there has been no conclusion or ruling from the relevant agencies. Central announced a new investment plan in Vietnam totaling 3.5 billion US dollars, covering retail, real estate, and hotels, split into 1.5 billion dollars for CRC to expand roughly 50 stores over three to five years, and another 2 billion dollars for CPN, after seeing substantial room for economic and purchasing-power growth. EGCO is pushing into the United States, acquiring a large 615-megawatt natural gas power plant in central New York under a tolling agreement that locks in long-term cash flow and captures electricity demand from AI and data centers. SPALI declared that Thai real estate has passed its bottom, and it will launch 19 new projects worth a combined 22.66 billion baht in the second half, with brokers saying profits have reached a turning point, raising this year's profit forecast by 10%, highlighting a 7.7% dividend yield, and setting a buy rating with a 21 baht target price.

InnovestX outlines three Fed meeting scenarios and recommends defensive stocks

InnovestX Securities has assessed three possible outcomes for tomorrow's US Federal Reserve meeting, after US August inflation figures came in close to expectations. The Consumer Price Index stood at 3.4% year-on-year, unchanged from the previous month, while Core CPI slowed from 2.5% to 2.4% year-on-year. However, the month-on-month figures came in slightly above expectations, and the overall inflation level remains above the Fed's target, keeping the market concerned about the interest rate path. The first scenario is a hold, which is the base case, but the market assigns it only about 10% probability, while nearly 90% expect a rate hike. The second scenario is a single Dovish Hike with no signal of further increases, which could pressure the SET to pull back in the short term before building a base. The third scenario is a Hawkish Hike with a signal of further increases, in which case the Dot Plot must be watched to see whether it reflects a higher rate path for next year. For Thai equity portfolios, InnovestX recommends two defensive themes for low-risk investors. The first is a Domestic Play, focusing on big-cap stocks with domestic revenue, such as CPALL, CPN, CRC, BDMS, BCH, PR9 and CHG. The second is a High Dividend Play, stocks expected to deliver a consistent dividend yield above 5% per year, namely BBL, KTB, HMPRO, AP, SCCC, PTT, FTREIT and LHSC. For investors with a high risk appetite, the firm recommends a Tactical strategy based on the meeting outcome. If the Fed holds rates, it sees a Risk-on play in MTC, SAWAD, TIDLOR, AP, SIRI, DELTA, HANA and KCE. If it is a Dovish Hike, it recommends buying on dips. If it is a Hawkish Hike, it recommends raising cash holdings and waiting for a market correction over roughly three to six months before considering groups that benefit from high interest rates and a weak baht, namely BBL, KBANK, KTB, TLI, BLA, TU and ITC.

Dao expects SET this week in 1,585-1,630 range, eyes FOMC, highlights PTTEP and CRC

Dao Securities (Thailand) expects the SET index to move in a range of 1,585 to 1,630 points this week, with the market watching the FOMC meeting as the key highlight after inflation figures came in close to the previous month. Although Core CPI fell slightly, Fed officials' insistence that they will keep a close watch on inflation numbers has raised market expectations that the Fed will hike its policy rate at this meeting to as high as 87%. Meanwhile, the Iran war remains protracted with no sign of an easy end, supporting oil prices staying elevated for a long time, and buying from the energy sector is expected to follow the upward trend in oil prices. For today's SET range, support is at 1,595-1,600 points and resistance at 1,610-1,615 points. Today's standout stocks are PTTEP, which continues to enjoy positive sentiment from oil prices, with Brent up about 3% in this morning's opening after Saudi Arabia ordered the shutdown of the East-West Pipeline due to a drone attack, with a "buy" recommendation and a target price of 180.00 baht, and CRC, whose same-store sales growth in July-August 2026 remained a solid positive 2%, led by Food at +5% and Fashion at +2%, helping offset Hardline which was still -3%, with a "buy" recommendation and a target price of 33.00 baht. Normal profit for 2026E/27E is expected at 9.4 billion and 9.9 billion baht, up 16% and 6% respectively.

DBS Vickers maintains Buy on CRC with 33 baht target, citing continued profit recovery through 2027

DBS Vickers has a positive view on CRC's earnings outlook for 2H26E and 2027E, expecting profit to recover continuously after bottoming out in 2025. Same-store sales growth in 3Q26E from July to August 2026 remains positive at around +2%, led by the Food and Fashion groups, with total Food SSSG growing about +5% and total Fashion SSSG up around +2%, supported by new brands and the Beauty concept, helping offset total Hardline SSSG which remains negative at around -3%. GPM in 2H26E is expected to continue expanding year on year but at a slower pace than in 1H26, driven by a higher share of high-margin products and Private Brand in the Fashion and Hardline groups, without the boost from low product costs during the price war seen in 1H26. The research team maintains its normal profit estimates for 2026E and 2027E at 9.4 billion baht and 9.9 billion baht, representing growth of +16% and +6% respectively, and keeps its Buy recommendation with a target price of 33.00 baht, based on a 2026E PER of 21.0x, which is 0.5 standard deviations below the five-year average. Central Retail Corporation, or CRC, has announced the success of its cumulative investment in Vietnam over more than 15 years, worth over 49 billion baht, rising to become one of the largest foreign retail leaders in Vietnam. Chief Executive Officer Sutthithat Chirathivat said that CRC currently has a network of more than 300 shopping centres and stores in Vietnam, spread across 26 provinces, with total retail space of over 1.3 million square metres, serving an average of about 500,000 customers per day and employing approximately 13,000 staff, of whom as many as 99.5% are local Vietnamese employees. Stephan Coum, Chief Executive Officer of Central Retail Food, said the food group aims to become the Pantry of Vietnam. In 2026 the company opened a mini go! branch in Cu Chi in January and opened a GO! Hypermarket in Dan Phuong last August, and it has set a target of opening 10 to 12 more GO! Hypermarkets and expanding mini go! Supermarket by another 23 to 25 branches by 2028, a total of 37 outlets. This growth is in line with Vietnam's economy, whose GDP expanded 8.18% in the first half of 2026 and 8.39% in the second quarter, while sales in the retail and consumer services category grew 12.9%. Meanwhile, the The 1 Vietnam loyalty programme has expanded its membership base to more than 7.4 million people in less than one year, and more than 90% of the goods sold in CRC Vietnam's stores are domestically produced, working with more than 2,000 local suppliers.

Asia Plus flags GUNKUL as standout beneficiary of Solar Rooftop scheme worth 50 billion baht

Asia Plus Securities said the Ministry of Finance is preparing to open registration for household Solar Rooftop installation subsidies in mid-October 2026, initially for 1 million entitlements with a total budget of 50 billion baht, or 50,000 baht per household, and is considering raising this to 1.5 million entitlements, with a target of completing disbursements by the end of 2027. The government will pay out only once the system is connected to the grid, and a 5-kilowatt system is expected to generate about 1,000 baht per month from selling power back to EGAT over 25 to 30 years. Government Savings Bank, GH Bank and BAAC will extend loans to low-income participants, who will use the electricity sale proceeds to repay the bank debt first. Meanwhile, the power utilities are preparing to invest in replacing meters and developing Smart Grid and Battery Storage systems. The government is also considering cutting customs duties on components that cannot yet be produced domestically and using BOI measures to support domestic solar production. The research team views this as positive for the renewable energy group, especially operators with Solar Rooftop and EPC businesses such as GUNKUL, SOLAR and SPCG, and as positive sentiment for CRC, COM7, DOHOME and HMPRO. Considering the scale of the programme, the government is targeting 1 million households with an average installed size of 5 kW per household, implying total installed capacity of 5,000 MW, which is higher than the existing 500 MW public Solar Rooftop power purchase programme. It sees GUNKUL as the standout beneficiary thanks to its fully integrated business chain and names it the Top Pick for news-driven trading. However, GUNKUL's core profit still comes from its renewable power generation business and large EPC projects, making this scheme an opportunity to supplement growth rather than a main profit driver.

Retail Q3 Profits Still Growing; Favor MOSHI-CRC-MRDIYT

Krungsri Securities expects normal profits for the retail group (excluding IT products) in 3Q26F to still grow y-y, despite flat same-store sales (SSS), with the main support coming from expanding gross margins. Meanwhile, August SSS was flat y-y, slowing from +1% in July, due to frequent rain and weak purchasing power. However, Big C (a subsidiary of BJC) bucked the trend with 2% y-y growth, supported by product adjustments and orders from small retailers. The lifestyle and department store groups continued to perform well, with MOSHI and MRDIYT posting SSS growth of 4% and 1%, respectively, while CRC grew 1.5%. The home repair and decoration group contracted by an average of 1%, with GLOBAL weakest at -7% and HMPRO at -4%. September SSS recovery is expected to be limited due to the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" measures and high cost of living. The firm maintains a NEUTRAL stance on the retail group and selects MOSHI, CRC, and MRDIYT as top picks.

Cabinet Meeting in South Approves Multi-Billion Baht Dual-Track Railway, Boosting Construction Stocks

The mobile Cabinet meeting in Songkhla Province, scheduled for August 31 to September 1, 2026, is set to consider several large-scale projects that could generate investment in the South for years to come, especially the second phase of the Southern dual-track railway with a total budget of approximately 104.466 billion baht, covering three routes with a combined distance of 534 kilometers: Chumphon–Surat Thani (30.423 billion baht), Surat Thani–Hat Yai Junction–Songkhla (66.271 billion baht), and Hat Yai Junction–Padang Besar (7.773 billion baht). If approved, this will connect the rail network from the lower central region to the Malaysian border, reduce logistics costs, and enhance long-term economic potential. Stocks expected to benefit include construction contractors such as CK, STECON, ITD, UNIQ, and NWR, as well as construction material companies like SCC, SCCC, and TASCO. Additionally, there are proposals from five southern provinces totaling 199 projects with an initial budget of over 57 billion baht, which could support water management and utility stocks such as FLE, UBA, and WIIK, as well as tourism and retail groups like AOT, AAV, CENTEL, ERW, SHR, CPALL, and CRC. However, most benefits are medium to long term and depend on actual approvals and bidding. Furthermore, there are projects for the Songkhla Lake Bridge and the Lanta Island Bridge with a combined budget of approximately 6.7 billion baht, expected to be completed by 2029, but the main contractor is a foreign company, CHEC Construction (M) Sdn Bhd, so Thai stocks may only get subcontracting work or domestic material procurement. Investors should monitor approval resolutions, funding sources, contract divisions, and actual work secured by each company, as these are key factors determining the impact on profits.
